CBD Medical Practice

I wrongly booked this medical centre, I thought I booked with my usual doctor, receptionist rang me to explain their fee policy and helped me to figure out my usual doctor’s medical center’s name. I decided to have a try with them. A male doctor I saw was really nice and explained a lot about my question, Will go to see doctor again and this place is much more close to my work.

Middle aged woman with the glasses working at the reception / front desk on 10 May 2023 at 3: 30pm was incredibly rude and unprofessional. She was blunt and when I said I no longer want to proceed with the consultation because I did not want to be out of pocket she looked back at her screen and didn’t even bother to respond to me. I felt judged because of my financial situation and felt blindsided that I had to be out of pocket because the practice doesn’t bulk bill. I had to ask if that was okay because she looked like she had an issue with it to which she bluntly replied “yep”. She doesn’t respond or look at me any further like I was beneath her, not even a good bye to close out the exchange so I just walked away after saying thanks after she doesn’t reply. I’m sure the doctors and the medical service itself are fine but if you decide to go here, make sure you avoid this woman unless you want to be talked down to.

Convenient location, just across the road from Wynyard station on Pitt St.
Was seen quickly, doctor was lovely and caring. Some drs do bulk bill.
Friendly reception staff.
Would definitely recommend this practice.

Saw different doctors there several times. I found Dr Fong and a male doctor are both very good.receptionist were very helpful to find out where I can do my exam. I think I will go back to see doctor if I needed.

Horrible absolute horrible front staff. Worst Attitude and will create argument's. Advise to just book via Hotdoc to avoid the 20 irrelevant questions provoking customers on call.

The doctor was actually googling and reading from the website. After ten minutes talk, they tried to charge me $120 for long consultation fee. Very unprofessional, never come back.

I had an appointment with Dr Meredith today. She was very nice and patient with me, and answered all the questions I had. All the receptionists were nice and sweet as well. As it was my first time visiting there, they all introduced themselves, I felt very welcomed and engaged. I don’t want this clinic to be very popular as it will be my regular clinic but I totally recommend!

The receptionist was so rude and continuously throughout conversation was making frustrating noises and rolling her eyes for absolutely no reason. Also, Dr. Kim as a doctor her attitude is appalling, rude and short coming. She accused the patient for not taking the antibiotics and not doing certain things as patient when they are not medically trained hence why they’re seeing a doctor at the time to get their opinion. Absolute shocking and it demonstrates why the practice was the only one available for appointments around the CBD. After all that, Dr Kim gave little information about the medication prescribed and just handed a piece of paper and said continue to monitor. But did not give further advice if it did not improve. Would not recommend at all.

After searching for a GP in the City, CBD Medical Practice was recommended to me almost 5 years ago. I was sceptical about a lot of medical professionals, however, I found CBD very good. I have recommended them to my friends. I have found they demonstrate the uptmost care, professionalism and diligence of all the Medical Practices I have visited. I can't recommend them highly enough. I have had all of my vaccinations including the Covid-19 shots at the practice by the Nurse, who has always worn a mask. Thank you.

Why do they even bother making booking times? Just make it first-come-first served, then no-one will have expectations, hence no disappointment.
Like most other reviewers: their time management is disgraceful. I've been going there for years and the average wait time is about 30 minutes for me, but I have waited longer in the past. The only way to avoid this is to try and get the first appointment of the day.

I have been going to Dr Sabapathy for a few years now. I have found her to be an excellent GP who is knowledgeable, diligent, and highly competent. It's also nice to have a doctor who is punctual! She is also a particularly nice person. She recently picked up a heart condition that I had and dispatched me to St Vincent's where I had a life saving stent inserted the next day. Thank you so much Dr Sabapathy!

Here I have found one of the best GP I have ever had. Dr B. Kua is amazing, so professional, so capable, smart and always present and helpful. I highly recommend her to everyone, especially women.

All the adverse reviews I've seen here are due to long waiting times which I know is frustrating. It seems to me that waiting times are long because the doctors spend time with patients rather than run by the clock. If you can't wait, go to a clinic that is likely to spend less time worrying about your welfare and more on throughput.

I cannot recommend this practice enough, and in fact just came back to work raving about it to my co-workers. Dr Sabapathy truly goes above and beyond any doctor I have met before, really taking the time to check your health, ensure you are okay and offer the best advice and treatment for your issues. I can see negative reviews relating to time here, but my experience has been maybe up to a 30 minute wait at the most, or no wait at all, and as previously stated, if you want someone who cares it is totally worth the wait. I would rather wait and see an amazing doctor than go to doctors that only care about billing as many patients in a day as possible and don't care about their health.

Complete waist of time. Was left waiting for an hour despite having an appointment. Receptionist failed to offer the courtesy of advising me of the approximate wait time. Ended up walking away without seeing a doctor. They need much better management. Totally unacceptable.

The doctors here a great but the waiting times are horrendous. Every single time you will wait half an hour or more. Yet they continue to take appointments in the same way. I recommend you turn up half an hour later than your allotted time. That way you won’t waste your work time sitting in their waiting room.

The doctors at CBD Medical are kind and helpful. As a long term patient of Dr Rowed and Dr Kua I've always been given the best care.
Waiting times can be a drag, but in return the team here take the time to listen to you and always offer treatment options on the spot.

Highly recommended, I've been going there for a few years now. My regular GP is Dr. Kua who I've recommended friends to previously, furthermore experiences with other team members have always been positive, for example Jack is always professional and diligent. Also, it is a convenient central location for thorough skin checks which are bulk billed (as i recall in 2020).

Have been coming to this practice for a number of years. I find the front office staff very helpful. Meredith Rowed is a very thorough doctor. Other doctors I have seen in the practice have also been thorough.

I've been seeing Dr Meredith Rowed for several years and can't recommend her enough. Chloe and the other staff are really lovely and very helpful, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this medical centre.
