The art here is all by disabled artists who create the most firehouse work.

Visiting Boonah is a truly uplifting experience. Not only do you see fabulous artwork but you have the opportunity to see creative, wise and kind-hearted therapists at work with clients who they evidently care for. All the clients have individual needs and strengths and they are creating art according to these needs and strengths. Boonah is an inviting space where kindness and respect rule. The art that is produced here is truly amazing, made by people who benefit enormously (mentally and emotionally) from their creative process. I happily have half a dozen pieces hanging in my home. Each piece telling its own story. I highly recommend a visit to Boonah!

All at Boonah. I just needed to let you know that I popped in to see your last exhibition and was truly amazed; not only by the high standard this year but by the continually improving standard over the years. Is there a dollar figure to the sheer joy the works give to both the creators and viewers? I doubt it. There is no cash register in Heaven. All I know is that I was blown away by some of the pieces which in some ways reminded me of the early ethereal genius of the young Brett Whitely. Congratulations to all!

This is such a safe, beautiful place for individuals of all ages with disabilities. It lets them immerse and indulge themselves in creative projects of their choice, from drawing to painting, clay to mache. Also, the staff are absolutely delightful and so supportive. Would definitely recommend this place if you are someone who is looking for a place to exercise your creativity, or know of someone who is.
