Worst practice I've ever been to and they take their sweet time transfering your records, your better of going to hospital than to see any of the doctors there

I am pleased to say how good Dr Yates is at Cardiff Family Practice, I highly recommend him. He also Bulk Bills which is great!

Waited a week to get an in person appointment, only to get a call from a receptionist that doctor is working from home. I'm a health professional myself, Telehealth works but sometimes doctors just need to do an in person check. Receptionist Carly is condescending and rude. I understand that everyone is under stress due to Covid-19, but the hospitals and supermarkets never shut down, why are the GP practices so precious!

Contact the Doctor surgery last week and asked to make a script appointment and advised by Tracey I would be be called back, however never recieved a return call. Contacted the surgery again today and spoke to Tracy who was very rude on the phone and was told because I don't have a consistent doctor there they aren't taking on new patients, even though I am an existing patient and been attending this practice my entire life. Really disappointed with this outcome and I won't be returning.

I have never had such an awful experience. 1 hour plus wait times as they book in 10 min increments when most of their patients are elderly and take 3 mins to move from waiting room to consult. Dr Mehta is probably the rudest and ignorant dr i have ever come across.does not listen, asks questions then interrupts while answering with irrelevant questions.very impolite, no apology for 1 hour wait times. I just have no words.

Waited 1 hour and 45mins for my appointment - I
Get drs run late but it gets better. After getting into
My appointment she informs me
That she can’t prescribe 4/5 of my medications
NOT because she’s uncomfortable in prescribing them or doesn’t have enough information (my
Records were sent to her and all Appropriate specialists informations) but she BLATANTLY LIED to me and said that NO GPS can prescribe these Medications at all due to “New rules”. Ummm I’ve never heard of a dr not being about to prescribe these meds for seizures or patches for pain that have been validated by the pain service. I’d rather her just say she doesn’t want to prescribe such medications rather than lie to me and tell Me that no drs can prescribe those medications. Perhaps she is banned from Prescribing such medications so just lies to patients about it.
After coming back For Overseas this threw me Into hysteria that I wouldn’t Be able to get any of my medications at all.
PLEASE DON’T LIE TO YOUR PATIENTS IF YOU WANT THEM TO CONFIDE IN YOU AND TRUST YOU - PATIENT/DR TRUST GOES BOTH WAYS.

Dr Mehta has been our family doctor for over 15 years. She is a wonderful caring and remarkably astute professional. My husband has a serious medical condition and requires extensive medical supervision. Dr Mehta has provided the best of care despite the many demands on her time. I highly commend her work to anyone who wants a caring and responsible doctor willing to go above and beyond for her patients.

I saw all the negative reviews and I was honestly suprised. Dr Mehta is the first doctor I've found since moving, who actually listens to me, takes the time to consider my issues and who I have gone back to on more than one occasion.

If you have an appointment here, expect to wait 30-45 minutes for any doctor. I had an appointment with Dr Mehta and as soon as I walked into her room, I could smell urine.

I then see urine samples of her other patients she had that day, OPEN (lids off and all) filling the room with the smell.

This was absolutely disgusting and would only recommend if you enjoy the smell of piss filling the room while you seek help from her.

Dr Mehta has been my go to GP for over a decade. Dr Mehta has always been professional, kind, supportive and understanding. Dr Mehta goes the extra mile every time to ensure her patients safety and health come first. I highly recommend Dr Mehta for anyone, particularly if you have complex health challenges that need a doctor who knows her stuff. Even in the midst of a pandemic Dr Mehta has remained highly responsive and dedicated to her patients. 5/5 stars.

I was referred by a family member to visit Dr Monica at Cardiff Family Practice with my son. Unfortunately I will never return. Firstly, I had an appointment booked at 10.40. I was told the Dr was running late and to take a walk around, even though it was thunder storming outside. So I had to take my 18month old out in the rain for a walk. When I came back I waited another half an hour for the Dr. She seemed in such a rush. Was not very warm and I didnt feel like she was listening to me. She Put us in another room to wait for nurse to come and vaccinate my son. Waited there for another 25 minutes. (At this point my son had had enough and I could not entertain him anymore) told the receptionist I would have to go. She just said "yep" didn't apologise or anything and I walked out.

Honestly I am very disappointed. She has been my family members Dr. For 15 years and I had heard great things. I am sure she is a good Dr. But the practice is overbooked. It's called a 'family practice' but it seems they mostly deal with the elderly and they dont have much experience with children. Don't bother booking as a new patient especially for a baby. Seems like they overbook the Drs to no end just to bring in the cash and the facility is very poor. Criminal behaviour from the owner. Will never return.

She had asked my mother, who's lost her son to a car accident, that she should of 'gotten over it by now, ' and told her to get off her antidepressants. I was in the appointment with her and was so gobsmacked. How rude! She has to empathy or symphathy. My mum had a emotional breakdown and loss her self confidence that she worked so hard on gaining.

Absolutely disgusting.

Mehta wants to charge me for my records which are actually from Dr hayes who was my GP from the day I was born. She claims they are her files. She was never my GP. In addition to this, I no longer live there and moved to another city and so therefore I should have these records given.

After how she treated my mother, there is no way in the world I will spend any of my money that would go to that doctor. I would rather go through all my tests again with my new doctor.

Woud not recommend.

Dr Mehta was my fathers doctor for 12 years. My father passed away and she wouldn’t come to the house to pronounce him dead so we could get him to the funeral home (his wish was to die at home), her receptionist was rude and has been so rude through the whole 9months my father was sick. It’s absolutely disgusting. My father insisted on her being there till the end. Definitely boycott this doctor if you ever want to be anything other than a paycheque to her.

Hello practice management, I’m Aimee Stromeier and I want to say Thankyou so much for assisting us when we would come and ask to use your toilet a few times even though it has been a couple of years ago now and just generally being helpful to customers that are not even patients of your practice your staff have polite and friendly unfortunately I cannot speak this way about the near by Cardiff General Practice a few doors down from you, I sincerely hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and Happy New Year, And highly appropriate your caring attitude towards the public.
