Cape Solander Lookout reviews
60Beautiful spot for whale watching. There is a boardwalk that can be followed for a picturesque view of the coastline. Multiple spots to stop and take a photo. The track is an easy grade although there are some parts that need to be followed off the boardwalk. National park parking fees apply here unless you have a pass. Being the coastline, this area can get windy.
It's a great walk with amazing views. You can also go down to the bottom if you are following the trails. The lighthouse is also amazing.
One of the best coastal walks. Recently installed raised pathway makes it easy to navigate. Beautiful views of the sandstone cliffs and crashing waves. With the right conditions you can even see reverse waterfalls.
Amazing view
Trails set out in an organised manner for a walk
Whale watching in October/November
Beautiful and magical rocks with the ocean view. Perfect for taking pictures and having an outdoor walk.
Good area for tracking or taking a stroll. The trail will take you to a bush then to the sea side.
A must visit place around sydney. Such a nice landscape never seen before. We have made a vlog on this do watch on youtube.https://youtu.be/W_Qz3iKrp5o? Si=kMlQXCOqbG3rC4Ef
Recently reopened in November 2022, but the shelter isn't quite ready. Several other new viewing areas but no toilets.
Plenty of parking but beware of the speed bumps.
Went here on the weekend, such a beautiful place! The water is so blue, the view is just stunning too. There’s even a midden cave thing that makes spectacular photos. This is a must go place I definitely recommend going at least once. Very beautiful walk around also There are swimming beaches close by so you can make a awesome day out of it.
Beautiful coastal scenery. Was very busy with lots of people watching the yachts from the Sydney to Hobart yacht race.
Great area to walk and see amazing cliff faces, ocean and national bush land in the Botany Bay National Park.
Beautiful place but we are not able to figure out the way for cave like structure shown in tik tok.
Great spot to watch the sunrise, plenty of parking with the upgrades taking place. Nice ocean views
It's a beautiful lookout on a bright and sunny day.
23 July 2022: The lookout is temporarily closed.
10 September 2022: It is still closed.
We stopped at Yena Picnic Area, walked through the last bit of Cape Solander Drive (because the road is closed for construction works - you can walk but can't drive in). The walk was AMAZING! Very strong breeze. You can see whales from afar (I suggest bringing binoculars). You will see Cape Bailey Lighthouse, Potter Point etc.on the way. We stopped at the Boat Harbour Aquatic Reserve and came back.
Amazing Place Not too far from Sydney just about 45 minutes drive, this place became even more attractive after renovation.
Always love to go back to this place to spend some amazing moments ️
$8 park entry donation to find out that the whale watching platform is closed until further notice.

One of the best cliff walk that I ever did in all these years. The walk is pretty hectic and long given the rough path on the cliff but it’s worth it. It’s 2 hours long walk and you can actually see the light house, I didn’t go there cause I was there for 1.5 hrs.
Surfers surfing ️ in the water is another good thing to see:
Amazing I must say
It’s a hour and a half drive from our place. Worth it
