Cape Byron reviews
15I parked my car at the Lighthouse parking lot and walked along the Viking course. It's quite a descent from the Lighthouse, but there are stairs and the path is downhill, so you can get there fairly quickly. However, the return trip was naturally uphill, so it was physically demanding.
The way down from the lighthouse to the cape is so beautiful especially at sunset.
There are parking slots near the lighthouse.
Nice lookout to see the sunrise or sunset. Remember to pay the parking ticket. If you are planning to see the awesome view please ensure the weather is good and have clear view.
**Parking Warden was Racist & Offensive**The parking attendant was not only unhelpful but derogatory and extremely offensive. My partner and I, both in our 30’s decided to go and spend a romantic evening up at the lighthouse (30th October 2022). Unfortunately we turned around and left due to the parking attendant being rude and derogatory calling me a POME c*nt and said the car park was full and to ‘turn around and go back to where I came from’. At first I took it as a joke and gave it a giggle but when I realised this wasn’t just your average Australian having some banter and this was a government paid parking attendant being extremely rude and abrupt I soon got upset and my partner was in tears. I am shocked to see this kind of behaviour considering the place is busy with tourists every day. Following on from this review I will be reporting this to the authorities as racist and derogatory abuse is just not called for. Usually I am an easy going fella but this was below the belt
Just spectacular. So beautiful, iconic Byron Bay. The walk around the headland is wonderful and around every corner is a new vista to be enjoyed. Great workout and well worth the effort.
Cape Byron is deffo a place your gonna wanna check out, sweeping views of the gorgeous teal waters.
This is a beautiful place to visit and spend some good time with your loved ones in very good weather. It was a wonderful day I visited this place with my wife. Beautiful view from lighthouse point and around. Must visit place for who loves nature. And make sure you spend whole day to enjoy view points wonderful beach very very beautiful city as well.
One of the most gorgeous beaches I’ve been to in Australia. The parking in front of this beach is about $4/hr. But such a great spot.
Visit is a must. Especially during whale migration season. I saw loads swimming through.awesome
Well worth it. Spectacular ocean views, also saw a bunch of dolphins in the distance and the history in of the lighthouse was interesting.
Visited the place two days in a row to get a stormy and perfect weather picture of the ocean, would do it again.
Just beautiful. Beautiful everywhere. All beaches. The waves are a bit strong. Maybe not recommended for lil ones.
DO NOT hire a bike from Soul Surfer School. Too old, rusty, and the brakes don't really work. Not safe. Not suitable for biking throughout the cape for hours.
You’ll need a good two hours to properly experience the Cape Byron walking track – but it’s so rich in delights, so don’t be surprised if you reach the end and feel like doing it all again. In fact, it’s one of the best ways to spend a couple of hours on the state’s entire coast.
The 3.7km loop leads you on a hike through rainforest and across clifftops with stunning views of the ocean and hinterland.
En route you’ll wander through the shade of bangalow palms and ancient burrawangs, across kangaroo grasslands, along picturesque beaches and up to Cape Byron Lighthouse. Remember to keep an eye out on the water for turtles, dolphins, stingrays and, in season, whales.
If you’d prefer an easier walk, the track can be accessed at numerous points and walked in shorter sections.
Byron Bay was an awesome experience filled with good music in the evening and a stunning view during the day.
It’s the most easterly point of Australian mainland. Private cars have to pay $8 to park in Cash.
It’s worth the visit where you can see the lighthouse, the blue water and the other beaches around it.
There’s a cafe and toilet at the top.
