Very pleased with the service! Jade is a fantastic vet and is supported by a wonderful team! Very grateful for all the care and expertise they have shown for our bird Dave!
My 15 year old Staffy had a serious eye injury just prior to Christmas.
Not only did the girl at front desk go out of her way to get Ollie in, the vet we saw was brilliant.
As he could not help Ollie, he sent us to the right place.
Thanks to these people for making Christmas bearable.
They helped save my dogs life.
Reception was absolutely lovely, Mike has so much experience with reptiles and was incredibly helpful and friendly, and pricing was more than reasonable. Couldn't be happier with the service, thankyou guys.
A great visit! The waiting area is clean. The reception counter is easy to approach. There are adequate rooms available for the examinations to be conducted. You can be moved into one of those rooms in the event you are waiting to be seen and the need to avoid pet contact with other pets in the waiting area becomes an issue. The staff were professional, knowledgeable and easy to speak with. They showed compassion and a genuine sincerity towards our pet related circumstances. The health issues with our pets were addressed and the costs involved were reasonable. We will continue to seek their services in the future. Highly recommended!
The vet i spoke to charged me for an extended consultation without telling me that time was up and so i therefore had to pay double the price i was told on the phone.the vet who was supposedly the best could not give me any helpful solutions to my pets issue and couldn’t tell me anything that i didn’t already know from my googling.was a massive waste of time and money and i definitely feel taken advantage of, would absolutely not recommend if you have an exotic pet xxxxxx
Was ok until my kitty Mollly passed overnight under their care. Was not notified until 8am the following morning and the vet was quite rude on the phone showed absolutely no empathy
When I asked approximately what time she passed he could not give me any idea. Makes you wonder if anyone checked on sick animals during the night. I wish I had her stay with me and pass in my arms.
We thought highly of this vet in the past, but they recently booked my mum's cat in for a $1200 biopsy without giving mum, who is a pensioner, a quote or any mention of the cost. This was really disappointing; just bad ethical and business conduct.
The biopsy was recommended for a rash, after only trying one round of antibiotics and one type of cream, after mum even said she hadn't completed the other treatments. Why on Earth would general anaesthetic and a biopsy be recommended for a rash when all options have not been exhausted yet? GPs don't book people in for general anaesthesia and a biopsy for a rash. Why? Because it's extreme, expensive and risky!
Mum even signed a waiver about the risk of her beloved pet not surviving the general (!) and only when I found out she had no idea how much it was going to cost did I ask for her. When she found out, mum nearly fainted and wasn't going to stick up for herself because she thought it was too late and didn't think she has any rights. Luckily the nurse that I spoke to kindly cancelled the procedure and we picked up the cat with some normal treatment options (different cream and antibiotics).
I've written this long review in the hopes that it might help someone to find out the reasoning and cost of a treatment before undergoing a drastic procedure; that won't even cure the issue, before blindly accepting a recommendation.
And also in the hope that someone at Cannon and Ball will read this and discuss with the vet why such a treatment was recommended to a poor old lady without giving her a quote? !
It was simply unethical, thoughtless and very poor risk-assessment for the sick cat; who would have been traumatised and still had a rash after mum borrowed money to pay the huge bill: (
Staff very friendly and my pup Honey is comfortable with her dr, operation booked Monday. Honey will lose 1 eye.
Claim to be an emergency vet for regulars but never pick up the phone after hours and don't have available appointments. Don't trust their emergency line and go somewhere else if your animal needs immediate assistance
Whenever my little Bearded Dragon Agatha isn’t feeling well I always take her to Cannon and Ball. They are super knowledgeable and friendly. It’s very difficult to find a clinic that can help with lizards and I’m so glad I found this one. Best around.
Plus, prices are very reasonable
Most caring knowledgeable vets I have visited. The only ones to see if you have birds. Also care for the feelings of the family's who bring their fur babies
Easy parking at rear (allow time for your furry friend to take in the smells of others).
Professional and efficient service of the administration staff and the Veterinarians.
I love Cannon & Ball vets. Everyone is so caring and gentle with your pets. They have kept my little dog, with a serious heart condition going for several years. Definitely recommend.
Had an excellent experience with rehabilitation and surgery. Dr Kim Fryer went above and beyond the call of duty when it came to treating my dog. She also took human feelings into account. Kim is easy to get on with, knowledgeable and insightful. Alicia in rehab is warm, professional and always willing to help. The reception girls were efficient and helpful. Despite the stresses and difficulties Covid is causing my dog was always treated well. A big thank you.
My beautiful Galah Vovo fell ill recently & straight away I brought her to cannon and ball. Michael is a wonderful man very experienced in avian practice & his whole team cares about your animals health a lot. Everyone at cannon and ball were a pleasant reassurance during this stressful time & were happy to update me on her hospital stay at any time! Definitely the best avian care in the Illawarra!
I've been going to cannon and ball vet's for 21 years they are good trusted surgeons over the years I've even call after hours they are nice I like Kim. Kim is a nice caring person
Excellent Avian vets! Jess is a wonderful vet that is always happy to see our two cockatiels. Also take in native avian rescues
They always take the time to care for my pets from birds to cats to dogs. Prices are great and service is quick
