Camperdown Fitness reviews
45I've been here nearly every day this year (COVID shutdown notwithstanding) so know this gym really well. Excellent facilities, not crowded and friendly staff. The best gym I've ever been to and would recommend it to anyone.
The gym is pretty good by itself but the janitors that work there, especially the female ones, have too much attitude. They need to understand that they are not in a night club. They better save their snobbery for their Saturday nights
Best gym atmosphere I’ve experienced in Sydney. The team who work there are friendly and helpful, the facilities are clean and well laid out, and they have a massive selection of equipment so you never have to wait long to use anything. Theres also heaps of parking in and around the gym. I’ve never been much of a gym head myself but this place is great, so If you’ve been thinking of joining a gym but weren’t sure, give it a go.
Hugely disappointed with this gym.
Great range of machines etc however they would not accept my medical clearance after recovery from Covid 19.
I was infected between my first and second jabs and once I recovered, I received a medical letter from the RPA hospital advising that I was to be taken as a fully vaccinated person under NSW Public Health orders for 6 months (essentially giving me up to 6 months to have my second shot).
After conversations with various members of staff, where I had to go into my personal health circumstances multiple times (which I should not have had to do), they would not accept my letter and treated me as though they thought I was making this up.
I was honestly baffled, either they were overly scared about problems with the Gov rules, which they shouldn't have been because I use this clearance to go back to work, enter every other business, schools, gov orgs, etc, and even provided them a copy.
Or they were concerned about safety, in which case they were uneducated because after recovery of Covid I am as good as double vaxxed, for a time. The letter even states I don't need to self-isolate if I am a close contact (for 6 months).
I couldn't wait to go back to the gym after lockdown and having Covid but I ended up having to cancel my membership and join another local gym. (When I got to the new gym and explained to the receptionist I had Covid before my second jab, she immediately said "Oh, you'll have the letter then - that's what happened to my brother's family").
Super disappointing and close-minded from a gym that otherwise seemed smart, progressive and on the ball.
Went there for the first time to potentially join and I left my towel at home and they were like "you can train for free coz it's your first time but that'll be $7 for the towel" and I was like what nah I'll leave. And either the manager or the owner was like "you can train for free but the towel costs us you know" and I was just even more turned off
Never had such a bad impression of service in any place before 2 stars though because they do have parking (I don't know if it's free though LOL probably $25 because it costs them) and it looked new and nice.
I don't normally write reviews but I'm so appalled at the service had to share I find it a bit funny they'd lose potential business for the few cents it costs to do laundry
Started training here over 10 years ago, moved out of the area for a few years and now years on with kids in tow who love the Creche, this is still the best gym in Sydney. Staff are always helpful and friendly. PT turnover is low which speaks volumes. Michael and always Paul are warm and inviting and the facilities are top notch and always squeaky clean.
There’s so much equipment - divided into key areas - but still I’ve been lifting for 5 years and some of the equipment… I don’t know if it’s for triceps or a 16th century torture device. I mean same same really. Lovely staff - they should be commended for the patience of welcoming people back after 16 weeks of lockdown. Well done
Money hungry gym that preaches a member first motto that it doesn’t get close to achieving.
Great equipment and helpful trainers, if only the customer service was of the same quality.
Been training with Michael Wood here these last three months. Spotlessly clean this gym has to be right up there with any facility in Sydney. Culturally is as welcoming to an old a Scottish boxer as I am as it is to my 14 year old daughter who gave the unsolicited feedback of “yeah Dad it’s a really friendly safe place. ”
I joined after the covid lock down and have now had a year of great training and experiences. The staff are so friendly, welcoming everyone who comes through the door. The spaces are new and the equipment tip top. The variety of classes and times are also better than most gyms. No hesitancy in recommending this gym.
This has to be the best gym in the country with a Creche that is as well equipped and staffed as the gym. The Creche is a child’s paradise, and the gym a parents playground. I had been unable to settle my son into his usual pre school for 12 months, and within a week of visiting the gym Creche, Isabelle and the staff had taken him under their wing and he was so excited to be there. It has taken me two years to find something so good and so supportive of the fitness goals of me and my family.
You cannot beat Camperdown fitness for parents and children and everyone in between!
I train here with Mary Di Domenico, who is fantastic. We have been working on a plan together since mid last year, post-surgery, and she has been not only knowledgeable in terms of the physical training aspect, she has been very supportive during this recovery period. Highly recommend!
Hands down best gym in Sydney, great range of equipment and friendly staff 10/10 would recommend you check it out!
The friendly amazing staff that are always willing to assist and are polite makes the gym experience even more memorable.
Have personally found the staff and PTs very friendly chatty and knowledgeable. Great atmosphere and extensive equipment, just like your own personal gym candy store.
Good equipment and clean premises. Price is okay. Opening hours are not the best and peak times are very busy and it can be hard to get to the machines/weights you want. Classes also make the downstairs area off limits during key times. Watch out for the 30 day notification period for cancellation.
Excellent array of equipment spread over a large and clean floorspace. In my experience, the trainers and other staff members are very friendly and attentive to any issues that arise. Special thanks to my trainer, Jamal who has helped me lose over 30kg during the time I've trained with him. I highly recommend him if you're looking to lose weight. If you live in the area and are looking for a gym, this is the place to be.
Spacious, clean and super comfortable gym. Everything is new, modern and impeccably clean. Have been coming here for 10 years, easily the best gym and the most reasonably priced for what it has.
Best gym along with best staff, very friendly.
Best equipment in Sydney, nothing compares to this place! Recommend this place to anyone and everyone.
Professional and friendly staff with unparalleled gym equipment. Easily the best gym in Sydney.
