Terrible camp
Went on a school trip to this place and overall was horrible. The food was alright yet can be alot better, boring Activites and the cabins were another story I just overall would not suggest this camp.

I came here for a one night school trip to camp Wombaroo.

Honestly, a pretty mixed experience. The campsite itself is not bad, has good, clean and functioning bathrooms, and the food given to us to eat was not bad.

The rooms, however, were another thing. Fortunately, me and my 4 friends got to share a cabin with a good amount of walking space (maybe 4m x 4m walking space). With other cabins, however, their walking spaces were probably as narrow as 2m x 1m for the whole cabin.

The beds in these cabins were suboptimal, the mattress feels as if it is made entirely of plastic and foam, and every little movement would let out a loud and discomforting squeezing noise.

The cabins itself were also not adequately equipped with ACs, or even locks! Some cabins in this camp had their windows taped shut, which made the rooms stuffy and hot during the hot summer nights. Even in our cabin, we had the window wide open, but yet we sweated a lot.

I’m not sure if the activities themselves are normally included with the camp experience, but I found them to be mixed. Some activities, such as the Big Swing and Vertical challenge, were fun, and posed good exercise and challenge for each person.

However, with other challenges such as the Bridge building and Raft challenge, it tended to mostly be about a small group of people within a larger group doing most of the work. So therefore, the people left out not doing work would be isolated and would have to wait until the activity would be finished.

Improving on this, I would recommend at least a fan in every cabin, to avoid heatstroke during the summer, (heaters were already provided in the cabins, so I do not see how this could be a problem) and also better mattresses to help the camping experience improve overall.

The activities I did not enjoy, which were bridge building and raft building, could, from my perspective, be improved by maybe including some better organisation and planning by the staff of the camp, so as to not leave anyone else isolated from these activities.

Overall, a pretty mixed experience, as I said before. Would seldom want to come back for another time.

I rated this camp a 1 star because it has very putrid food, the first night we had sausages and they were very hard and dry. The cutlery was not clean and had food scraps on it from the last group. Another reason for this rating is the rooms, they were small and stunk bad, my roof had a leak and dripped in my face and woke me up. The mattresses were very uncomfortable and you could not get a good nights sleep. If you are trying to get on the top bunk be careful that the whole frame doesn’t fall on top of you. And if you’re thinking about using your phone be sure that you won’t be able to use any apps requiring internet because there is none!
That’s why I gave it this rating

I can't comment directly on Camp Wombaroo but I can tell you every evening I picked up three exhausted, excited young boys.

Over dinner they talked sbout their day with huge smiles, wonderment and lots of laughs. Tonight was our last pickup for these holidays, in the car they were pleading to go back.

To all at Camp Wombaroo thank you for what you do, for broadening my young fella's minds, for your enthusiasm and for helping us make the Xbox a second choice.

Great job.

The camp site was pretty bad.let me start with the food.we had to make our own food outside where bugs fell in our food, the vegetables fell on the dirt, people accidentally cut themselves with knives and the chopping boards also had dirt on them.the instructors couldn’t have cared less about it.they always left us to do things by ourselves with little guidance.the bathrooms were covered in dirt and hair and were never cleaned.even the showers were like this.the activities weren’t that great or interesting.we did bushwalking and the trails were wet, slippery and dangerous, with broken glass and remnants of broken down cars there.when i wanted to fill my water bottle, the bubblers weren’t working.the staff told us to fill it up at the toilets which was also unhygienic.the cabins were also really small so it was difficult to sort our luggage out.most of the staff were helpful, fun and nice.overall this place wasn’t great.i wouldn’t come back again or recommend it to anyone else.

Spent 3 days there. Great setting, great and abundant food. Sleeping quarters = school camp, but good.

THE CAMP WAS HORRIBLE.

The cabins had holes in the walls and rubbish was left scattered across the floor like a junkyard. Along the bushwalking trail also lay countless burnt, broken down cars with broken glass around some parts. The activities also weren’t that great and didn’t incite interest within my classmates (I went with my school). Our instructor also left many tasks to ourselves with the lack of support and guidance leaving us to do things like starting a fire, animal encounters and handling of knives to ourselves.

I would not recommend going to this camp for ANYONE.

Kids attend the Day Camps here and have been with school. A lovely location with all the wonders of the Australian bush. Great team of staff who go the extra mile and plenty of activities to keep everyone active. Kids love it, say the food is really good and they always have fun.

A mess! Very bad activity’s and kids are responsible for there own safety when in a harness! The food is bad and disgusting and the instructors are bad would not recommend to anyone. Smoke detectors, lights where shattered and half of the smoke detectors didn’t even have batteries or where plugged in. Cabins r very small and get hot quick. Air conditioning doesn’t work one bit. Along the bush walk trail there is rubbish, beer bottles and glass AND EVEN 2 STOLEN SMASHED UP CARS! Overall the service and management of this camp if appallingly and should be inspected by health officials for the food and shut down until they can clean it up! THE ACTIVITYS ARE VERY LIMITED! The plates, glasses and knifes and forks still have left over food and crumbs on them from the previous meal. The enthusiasm Of some (if not all) employees is unacceptable and they should be embarrassed to even represent the camp. Overall u should not spend a night let alone a day here and if u do be ready to waste $200 + dollars!

Plus is a dump, smoke detector doesn’t have batteries, food is disgusting if not under or over cooked the meat was fat and way undercooked, limited activities that where very basic, cabins are half the size of a small bedroom where 8 people have to sleep with hardly any windows and the windows where small. Nobody looked like they where there from the enjoyment only money and the instructors where rude!

Terrible food and the activities are very dodgy. Would not suggest this camp to anyone looking to have a thrilling time. Although instructors are nice, the activities themselves aren’t the greatest.

We love Wombaroo and have been going for years! Great facilities and great food! But the main reason we keep coming back is because of their staff and most of all Stuie! He’s so wonderful with our teens especially our nervous ones trying new activities! Stuie was born for this job! We can’t wait to see him every year!
