Calderwood Christian School reviews
4Former student, graduated 2002 with a severe anxiety disorder that nobody could be bothered to pick up on - and if they DID notice I was struggling, I was either called an attention-seeker or bullied into 'doing better' by both my teachers and my classmates. My parents have openly admitted their regret at enrolling me, and my HSC from this dump isn't worth the paper it's printed on.
CCS has offered our children a amazing schooling culture and environment. The Christ centred focus filters through all aspects of the day to day. We couldn't be happier with our choice to send our children to Calderwood Christian School.
My daughter attended Prep at this school in 2015. She enjoyed the first few weeks but towards the end of term one began to dread going to Prep. I found this odd as she is normally a happy child. I raised this with the head Prep teacher who told me that she must be tired as it’s nearing the end of term. My gut feeling, however, told me that something had happened. In term 4, I picked her up one day with bloody scratch marks on her face which I assumed was from her tomato paste and olive sandwich. When I got home to give her a wash she explained to me that a boy from her Prep had scratched her on the face. When my husband and myself raised this with the school they not only defended the other child but tried to convince me that I needed to teach my daughter to toughen up and that in the outside world these things will happen. My daughter still remembers the incident. It didn’t help her confidence. She now attends Cedars which is an amazing school, she skips on her way in the school as opposed to hanging off me when I used to drop her off at ICS Prep. Also, my daughter didn’t benefit from the ICS Prep program as much as my younger son did through the Cedars Prep program.
