Evelin and Sullivan are great agents! They are nice, kind, professional and have great communication. I have no issues working with them at all. Sun on the other hand only reply me when she needs sth. I often don’t get a response from her unless I reach out to her in person.

Suliivan is such a great agent. He explained each and every details in a great manner. Wish there were more respectful and responsible agents like him.

I have a gut feeling that they have specific requirements based on racial profiling when it comes to lease properties. This is the email that I have just sent to them. I think it is time that these agencies get exposed to fair trade. These people are not compatible with the Australian principle "give a fair go".

There were several properties (in Rhodes) advertised by CJ Real estate and the agents were Evelin Chen and Sullivan Ji. I have applied for a few (offering more than what was asked for 1 property with all the details) and requested for inspection. I have emailed and texted them a few times to discuss further. Called a few times but there was no response at all!

And all of a sudden I can see that the property is "Leased" and there was no inspection at all!

I am not sure what is going on here but if you guys have racial preferences then please don't waste our (who can not satisfy your racial profilings) time and don't publish these false advertisements or mention your preferences so that we can save our time.
From now on, I will stay clear of CJ Real Estate.

- Without arranging an inspection, if you submit applications by yourself to the owner then this is not right and you should have let candidate (like myself who have put time & effort) that there will be no inspection. Please check the state standard practise /law regarding this.
- I think it is not reckless to inform public about these incidents. This is what 'review' is for if you don't know by now. Other reviews shows that your organisation is not known for good practise and either the agency is incapable of improving the service or doesn't have any intention. I believe that these complaints needs to be investigated by proper authority and journalists. I/other reviewers will be more than happy to be proven wrong. Public deserves a 'Fair go'.

I have rented with CJ for the last 3 years. I would try to avoid them where possible.

I have found the communication with them quite poor especially when it comes to replying emails or returning phone calls. I had to do a lot of follow up to get things done (e.g. Extra key, repairs, key returns). In general, it takes a long time for them to action when the tenant request something. I understand they might have to seek landlord approval, but I would appreciate some sort of acknowledgement during the wait or upon receiving the tenant request.

The vacant process did get quite difficult when they don't reply promptly. Especially when I call the office and they say someone will get back or reply to my email, which I ended up had to make several phone calls to chase up.

After the end of lease inspection done by the Agent, they tried to put the existing issues on us despite these were reported in our initial inspection report (e.g. Dirt/marks on the wall, chipped wood board in the cupboard). This can put tenants at additional stress if the Agents had actually cross-checked the report.

The worst part is, we put the bank details on the vacate form for bond release as requested by the Agent, but the bond goes into a different account of mine from 3 years ago. Which means they don't even look through or check the details for correct bond release. This is scary and very unprofessional.

Overall, if you want to rent with them. It might seems fine at the beginning as you are giving them a deal. But expect trouble/poor communication when you make a request, and probably troubles based on how they work.

My experience with CJ Real Estate has been amazing. Evelin and Sun have been extremely helpful in terms of property management and service. If you need to rent out your property, I would highly recommend CJ Real Estate!

Evelin is the worst property manager I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. I enquired about why my investment property was charged twice for several repairs and she said she would investigate it but never got back to me. I followed up with emails and phone calls but she never answers or returns my calls. I have tried escalating this matter with management but I keep getting the same run-around that they’ll look into it and get back to me. I have since changed to a much more professional and responsive agent who will be taking care of this matter for me. These crooks take advantage of landlords who don't pay attention to their rental statements. Avoid at all cost!
Like how they've responded to every other bad review here, I bet they'll deny everything and say they don't have a record of me in their system!

An extremely unhappy experience with this agency. When something under warranty in the rent property went wrong, they directly sent tradie for inspection and charged us a couple of hundreds even it was not caused by us, and refused to communicate by neglecting our phone calls and emails until we filed the issue to Tribunal after struggling for one month for their reply. Dramatically, the issue was told to be under warranty and no necessity for any charge immediately after Tribunal has sent the hearing. Unbelievable. Just be cautious when making the decision if you wanna work with this agency and grab annoying residence experience.

In addition, though I'm not sure if all these happened due to the agency or landlord, I would suggest everyone to avoid this agency and involving in their poor communication with their landlords as you can find in many of the reviews.

I was thoroughly satisfied with the communication and the time Keith (property manager) took to attend to any inquires we had durring our 1 year lease with CJ Real Estate. He was also very helpful with our End Of Lease Clean and move to our new place, by connecting us to the best services to use and the process was seamless.

I am grateful and still very impressed with the team at CJ Real Estate. If you're looking for clear, timely communication and effective support during your tenancy, CJ Real Estate is the way to go.

If I had a choice to give them no stars or a minus star I would. No responses to emails. Wants to rectify issues that was already there. No audacity to dealing with clients in any manners. Just disgusted at the way they respond. I dealt with Many real estates. Thus far the worst experience.

I have been with CJ for over ten years now, great team with excellent service all the time. Everyone but especially Alex, Sun and Evelyn always provide exemplary service, couldn't ask for more.

As a landlord at Rider Blvd Rhodes, I’m extremely happy with Keith’s service. He is always prompt with his response. He handles all situations quickly.
We followed his guidance to get the property ready for lease, and we found great tenants within just 5 days. Thank you Keith.

Worst realestate to deal with, done a general clean of property due to end of lease then paid for bond clean wasn’t good enough had to go back and do another clean and still aren’t happy, been two weeks since lease is up and moved and won’t release bond.
People I wouldn’t recommend renting through this realestate at all! Read reviews before renting

They only recognise their cleaning provider. Otherwise they will always ask for further cleaning and stated that the place is not cleaned properly. Even when after the apartment was cleaned by their contractor, the bond was still on hold due to some minor issues. Then they ask tenants to clean the property again or pay extra to their cleaners with the explanations ‘it’s tenants responsibility to return the property in the same condition’. I have been charged a lot when leaving the rental property managed by them.

The agent Evelin Chen is a discriminator, racist and unprofessional.
I was taking a normal picture for myself for the record of inspection for 307/5 Nina Gray Avenue, RHODES.
However, she suspects me that I am taking the photo for other purpose (what the hell can I other things to do with the photos of vacated empty property of only one bedroom?) Even if I told her I take the photo for me and I will live here by myself her rude and arrogant attitude was still targeting to me. There were other white girls but she did not ask the same thing to them, only to me.
She treated me as a bogan, homeless and begger who came to take a photo of a property where I dare not be afford to.
I was upset and felt insulted so I just left the property.
However she follows me and asked me to delete it in front of her.
Also she was late for the inspection for 10 mins so I missed the inspection of other property.

Stay away from this agent!
I found an apartment has been listing for some weeks. However, they increased the listing rental price during the lockdown.

Stay away from this agency if you value your time.
My partner was with them for 4years as a tenant in Newington. Most of them are rude and they deny what they said unless it is written, especially the rental property manager. She asked him to have a privacy inspection, but he didn't get the message and didn't reply to her. But she showed up with people without key to access the property.literally she yelled at my partner, threatening him that she's going to sue him. Unorganised, Rude and unprofessional!

We literally haven't experienced such unprofessional service ever with any agent and the experience is so unpleasant that is rare as a service provider.
We submitted our lease termination notice 14 days ahead of lease end as per contract and this agent did not contact us at all until 2 days before Saturday saying they need to come at 10am for open inspection. We immediately emailed back as we have an appointment booked at that time so want to discuss alternative options. The agent (Keith Tam and Sun Han) rudely rejected any other time we proposed saying that are busy and we have to leave the keys with them if we are not at home. It is the first time ever that an Agent did not ask our preference or discuss the open inspection time and refused any further communications. We are not comfortable to leave the key as we have an indoor pet and the appointment is just for 2hours. So there were plenty of time slots for the agent to have the open inspections on that day.

Ironically, on Saturday after we were forced to cancel our appointment so as to stay at home for the open inspection, no one from CJ Real Estate showed up! There were a few groups of tenants waiting outside wanting to inspect and both them and us called CJ REAL ESTATE landline and mobile of the agents listed in the adv and no one picked up their phone! No communication, no messages, let alone apologies. How ridiculous and unprofessional this agent is!

Needless to say, I don't think i will ever encounter such service anymore as we would never deal with them after this. I feel they have a tendency to treat tenants poorly and think tenants are inferior compared to landlords of some sort.

Keith from CJ Real Estate was our agent and he was diligent, responsive, and fair. As a former tenant (only recently ending our tenancy in Feb 2021) we can confirm that Keith was fantastic to work with. He was fair, clearly highlighted what we needed to do to complete our tenancy correctly, and co-operated with us to do exactly that. We felt very lucky to have Keith's assistance and must say he is a shining example of exactly how Real Estate agents in rental properties should be. Thank you Keith for making our tenancy a smooth and lovely experience
