Helpful and friendly staff willing to share all the local tips

I went there to see if they had any tours for me to do kayaking with dolphins on the following day. Because it’s during new year, I didn’t have high hopes for the availability. But they managed to book one for me. I believe there are many operators at Byron Bay. If your hostels/hotels can not book one for you, can come here to try.

I also asked about walking tracks in this area, the lady was so nice to draw the track that she recommended on the map. She also shared cafés and local markets info with me. It’s really nice of them.

Just went there 3pm and closed, another lady also there banging on door. It's hardwork to open it to tourists

20 dollars just to store 1 bag less than 2 hours… but as I was really surprised with the price I had a discount of 5 dollars wow.

Amazing place, I highly recommend to go there at the start of the trip so the lovely ladies who work there can advise you about everything and give some tips.
They are very nice, I was laughing with them a lot.

Opening hours stated they open at 10: 30. Waited for an hour. Still closed. Kepp that in mind when you want to store your luggage here. I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

They are slow. I stand here in hot weather waiting. Has nice tree out front though. Good for shade. Also man busking across road is good. ITS HOT… this is an update. Have been waiting for an hour now. We got told they opened at 10: 30. It’s now 11: 35. Lots of people were waiting and have since left. It’s honestly ridiculous at this point. Unreliable.

Staff seemed put out about storing bags and it was $20 per person. Tried to go back on a Tuesday and they were inexplicably closed.

We spoke to the most un interested volunteer about the town and surrounding areas. Nothing to do here and why would you go there was her comments.
I would suggest that she not work there if no willing to sell the area for travellers

A very enthusiastic start attended to us giving us all sorts of info and directions. A must go if you need directions and information about the are!

We checked the day before regarding the opening hours and were told that they were open 11-2 and that we could store our luggage.

Walked all the way there with suitcases and booked our shuttle bus from there. No sign of any staff and the place is closed. Other travellers with suitcases and backpacks waiting also, what a joke of a visitor centre.

Saw a sign during the week for luggage storage and looked it up online but no hours mentioned so went there on Saturday after checking out and it was Closed!
Also the worst town for Public Toilets- truly shocking

Awsome friendly gentleman who new his stuff! Planned my entire day Sunday which would be Valentine's day. Finally a visitors centre that could give me all the information I needed plus more.unlike ballina they were hopless!

I almost missed my flight because the ninconpoop at the desk sent me to the wrong bus stop 100 mtrs up the road. Would have been much better off he had said he didnt know. Who needs an information centre like this?

Byron bay the surfers paradise and the wealthy Australians that do not better. But they must pay for the privilege of owning a limited space property with sea view, sold overpriced a few years later to a lotto winer I guess?

Very informative and helpful booking our kayak afternoon. Local inside information from volunteers was great.
