Byron Bay Train reviews
12It was a special expiriance. The stuff was so great and this is a lovely way to Get to Byron Bay without a car.
Great teain, was nice way to break up the drive. I would recommend starting from the north beach station and heading into town, otherwise there is nothing to do for 30 mins
North Beach station also has free parking.
It might only be a short train journey but we loved it. We were staying at the Discovery Parks so used this to get in and out of town. Our girls enjoyed it so much. A must do for families! The tickets make for great souvenirs too and now hang on our Christmas tree. Staff were also so so friendly and very accommodating with the kids.
Take a ride down memory line with this gorgeously restored train and friendly service. Full on electric!
Great for lovers of trains. Not so good for scenery. Staff are super friendly and helpful. If you are lucky they will let you sit beside the driver.
Great trip, well looked after train and fantastic staff - they even let me in the cab after I mentioned I volunteered for a railway in New Zealand myself. Would definitely return if I'm in the area.
Awsome! Old school 1950s train into Byron. A world first Solar powered train cruises into town. Goes on the hour every hour until 5pm. Pretty good if you're staying at elements and want to head into Byron centre. 8 min trip. If you just want to go there and back it's 5 min stop and then goes back.
Great trip, great concept that should be expanded and open more up to those traveling without cars.
Great train trip, could have been longer though. Good to be able to talk to the train driver, very cool being solar powered/Battery
A good walk through the Arakwal park or the lighthouse will be a far better use of your time if you are looking for things to do! If you have a young (5 or less) train fanatic in the family they may enjoy it but do not fear that you are missing anything if you do not fit this little tourist trap into your itinerary.
A lovely gentle experience, before you reach the hubbub of Byron itself! Just listen to the comments of little kids on the step-back-in-time train and you'll smile.
Went first time today to avoid the holiday gridlock on the road into Byron Bay. First thing I see is some entitled tourist giving the ticket lady grief about the price difference between high and low season. Geez, give the staff a break. We get close to 2 million tourists a year through the Bay. Adult tickets are $4 during high season, $3 the rest of the time each way. So $16 for two people return. It was a fun experience but will go back to taking the push bike as usual.
