Butter reviews
70Go here all the time. Always a good experience. Will return every time I'm in the area.
I’ve been a fairly consistent customer up till Butter closed its Parramatta location, it was really bitter sweet coming back to the Surry Hills location the other day.
While the menu has changed, the taste certainly has not.
The service was just as good as the food, with the awesome guy in FOH who made it quite entertaining.
Popped in on a Sunday before 5pm for drinks as we were waiting on Dinner venue to open nearby. Can't thank the Manager enough- (I think his name was Anthony?) Very casual and positive vibe and had a brief chat with my wife and I. Gave us complimentary champagne to celebrate our anniversay:) Cocktails were great- will definitely be back to try the amazing Food!
Such an unfortunate encounter with a rude staff person that completely ruined the atmosphere and lunch experience. My best mate and I went into the Surry Hills establishment only to be greeted by a disgruntled staffer who didn’t even do the bare minimum of welcoming us properly. He was on his phone and failed to direct us to our seats, which we just found ourselves. There was no one present at this venue, so the lack of help was outlandish. Then, this rude staffer proceeded to tell us to “order at the counter” with a rather arrogant tone and frustration in his voice, to our surprise. Without even properly guiding us with the full information that their QR code system was not working and that the menu was also at the counter, we sat down and he again began to give us his bad attitude and told us to “order at the counter” becoming more frustrated at us, when he himself is not giving us proper information. We understood that we have to “order at the counter”, however nothing about the menu was mentioned. We planned to check out the menu with the QR system and then “order at the counter”. We were totally confused from the get-go at this person’s bad attitude and tone. It was such a shame as we were really looking forward to eating here as Butter as it is one of our favourite franchises, but due to this poorly trainer staffer, we decided to exit and find somewhere else to eat. Whoever looks after this restaurant needs to address this person’s behaviour as they had an extremely sour attitude with zero customer service training. We hope no one else has to ever experience such a horrid presence from this person. I hope they were not the manager, because that would be totally tragic. Please have a serious talk to this staff to treat everyone with respect or they should be shown the door ASAP. We simply just walked in and was greeted with a bad attitude. Such a simple task that is their main priority on the food chain franchise. The positivity just flew right out of our day the moment we encountered this, dare I say, gremlin, as that is what their attitude portrayed.
Beautiful food and sensational service! The guy even gave me an extra bag to carry my drinks I’d bought elsewhere
So friendly and happy!
We had a voucher to use at butter travelled 1.5 hrs to surry hills to be knocked back because the voucher system doesn't work? I'm sorry but this voucher is paid for its not a coupon don't know why it wouldn't work when it's a code not a QR code u have to scan.very upset it was my wifes birthday also. Thanks butter.
Great chicken! The flavor and crispyness of the fried bird is one of the best in Sydney! And i especially love their cinnamon sugar donuts that are served fresh and warm! The donuts have been served with a rather raw inside, resulting in a dense, raw tast and texture rather than the normal fluffy pillowy donut that it used to be. A positive is that the staff are super nice and polite and the restaurant is a nice, trendy and clean place!
Ate here twice on my business trip to Sydney. Simply the best chicken burger near CBD! Trendy atmosphere, cool and folksy staff. Definitely a cool place to hang out
I visited butter 3 weeks ago.but i was disappointed since Everything was to salty. Including the loaded miso fries.
Uber eats profile doesn’t work or allow you to order, switched to EASI and spent 2 hours waiting for our food. EASI refused to refund and butter refused to accept responsibility. Don’t order unless you want cold food or have to re-order from another place. Such a shame given our previous love of their food.
Food is good but tomatoes sauce $3.25 for a cup? And they advertise ramen but we went Sunday night and there is no ramen asked the staff it said will be available next month. What a false advertising.
One of the finest crispy chicken sandwiches I have had. Add some crispy chips and you have a great quick lunch. Recommended.
The chicken is delicious! It’s well seasoned and cooked to a wonderful crisp. The fries were…fries though. I also had the cinnamon donut, which was perfectly moist and not too sweet. Worth a visit
I got the fried chicken tenders. It was a good portion size, so it was good value for money. I liked the crispness of the batter of the fried chicken, including the meat content - it wasn't mostly just batter and less chicken; it was well balanced. It wasn't too oily or too dry.
I feel that the dish could have a little more flavour, including the sauce.
Ordered a burger box with a cheeseburger, some chips and a chicken wing. It was delicious. The chicken was tender and moist. The sauce in the burger was sweet like honey. It came with bit of buttered corn which was delicious too!
I also ordered the apple pies. OMG! They were so delicious, I could have eaten 2 servings of them!
Short staffed and a bit grotty but amazing chicken. Needs a good clean and better chairs/tables.
Terrible service, food hasn't come out yet after an hour. I could cook my food faster than this
Donut is amazing if you like cinnamon. It melts in your mouth. Noodles are soso, not recommended.
Horribly slow service. Waited over an hour for 6 tenders, staff attempted to rectify the issue but didn’t follow through very well, the manager also seemed to be very apathetic about the issue.
I understand Saturday’s can be busy but super disappointed compared to my last visit.
Got takeaway from here during lockdown. Burgers are really excellent (got the OG with Coleslaw and cheese), however the tenders were a little peppery and the chicken wings were slightly disappointing (with the skin separating from the deep fried coating). The hot sauce is also only okay. Overall though, would definitely order again when needing a solid burger fix.
Also the laces remind me of Five Guys' fries which are amazing.
