Bronte Baths reviews
32Picturesque and historic a great place for a quick swim or do some laps go for the sunrise alone costs you nothing but your time go for a coffee across the road plenty of choice
Free for public. Not much rush especially in the evening. Showers nearby. Good for open air swimming. Green areas nearby for sitting
Free and very unique experience. If you are doing the Coogee to Brontë walk - highly recommend stopping off here and taking a dip to cool down
Nice View point and a beach walk path to visit in Sydney.
The natural pool is so nice.
I had a walk from Bondi Beach to Coogie beach on 5th June 2023 and it was a wonderful experience for me.
The path is safe and has stunning views.
There are changong rooms and wash rooms for both of ladies and gents.
And some huts are available to have a rest and have food.
Bronte Baths in my opinion is Sydney’s premier sea water pool. Especially glorious in winter
Love ️ Bronte Beach Baths Enclosed swimming pool as well as natural swimming area with shallow water suitable for children as well as adults, toilet and shower facilities are also available. The beach and the surrounding area is very nice. The bogey hole sometimes might be a bit rough depending on the the conditions
Make sure to bring a swimsuit, I was disappointed not to have one. Bondi Beach has a paid pool, but this one is free. It's a 40-minute walk from Bondi Beach to here along the coast.
The water was clear and refreshing and the views of the ocean were beautiful. The facilities were clean and well-maintained and the staff were friendly and helpful. My friend and I had a great time swimming here. I highly recommend Bronte Bath for a fun and relaxing day out with friends or family.
Open bath pool lots of crabs on the rocks very ascetic for photos and just a good place to swim
Very nice baths. Nice and deep so you can do big dives and I like that there’s no life guards hanging round they just leave you to it and let you jump in off the cliff if you want and play spring no rules
Perfect place to swim and chill on a summer day. Bronte baths are 1 or 2 degrees warmer compared to the sea temperatures, so it's usually a rather pleasant swim.
Great spot for early riser’s or late swimmers. Hard to find parking in the middle of the day and it can get super busy very quickly. Unfortunately, kids wanting adrenaline are seen jumping dangerously from up high and police can’t always be there to stop it. But such a gorgeous swimming pool and it’s free!
Highly underwhelming. Pools were old and not very looked after. Not disability friendly. Just go to the beach instead
Bronte Baths is an open-air, ocean pool carved into he sandstone cliff at the southern end of the Bronte Beach. It is a very Australian thing to have a pool built alongside the beach and there are about 100 along the NSW coast. As far as ocean pools go, it’s this is one of the most scenic. It is slightly elevated so it looks across the ocean and down upon the beach. The towering sandstone cliffs and rock formations are a dramatic backdrop.
Built in the 1880s at a time when it was considered highly risky for men and women to mix, the baths were highly regulated. Swimming was only allow between daylight hours of 10am - 4pm. Goodness knows what might happen in the dark. Gentlemen could bathe 7 days a week but ladies were forbidden on Sundays and public holidays. Today entry is free, but when it was new, entry was fourpence (adults) and tuppence (children).
The baths are perfect for smaller children or for those who are are inexperienced swimmers. It offers a safer swimming space, where you can still swim in ocean water but are protected from tricky rips, shifting currents and rough surf.
Barrier at one end divides the serious swimming section where lanes are marked out for laps, from the area where you can just have a splash around.
The surrounding rock platform is a good area to set up your towels and sit in the sun.
NOTE: Don’t leave without walking the very short distance up the path past the Baths to the end of the headland. It has absolutely beautiful ocean views and striking sandstone formations.
There was a girl in my class of '86. She was a stunner! Wowza! Blond hair and blue eyes, what a babe! Her name was Bronte. My mates and I went to this place, thinking we would get to see her bath- silly I know. But what a laugh we got! Good times all around. And in good old '89, I got to see my own Bronte Baths, if you known what I mean ;)
Great Ocean pool with amazing view. Parking is not too far away if you go early during the day. Amenities available as well.
Generally there is parking at the latter part of the evening after 6pm. We go here occasionally to cool off in summer when the nights are too hot. A bit difficult to get here during the day. Nice ocean pool - clean with beautiful views.
Incredibly nice place to swim and enjoy the view. The surf is just amazing and you can watch the waves crash into the pool for hours. Definitely worth a visit when at Bronte Beach or doing the great coastal walk from beach to beach.
