Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery reviews
22Great collection from local artists, very kind person at reception and a gift shop with lots of nice things
One of the most relaxing environments, apart from our abundant natural bushland and water reserves, that give people a chance to compose and reflect on such an amazing industry. Broken Hill and its art scene reflect a class of works which reflect the warming embrace of its localism and genuine hospitality. Nestled amongst a plethora of Coffee Shops and eateries its a definite No# 1 hotspot for tourism.
My very first experience was a very warm and friendly welcome. We were well informed on the exhibitions and given useful directions which made our experience much more enjoyable.
This art gallery has a very strong sense of community and pride in its local culture. I can't wait to visit again with my family.
I'm So happy that this time they had some of their collection of local artwork on display. Nice shop too.
A great Council regional art gallery with work by some of the great outback artists, indigenous artists & “Brushmen from the Bush”. Entry is free but you are encouraged to make a donation. The shop has some very nice souvenirs too.
Fantastic old building with some awesome art pieces. Well worth a visit and only costs a donation.
Wide range of art from indigenous to brushmen of the bush and early Australian artists including streeton and mccubbin
Excellent selection of local art, aboriginal, pro hart, Jack absolon, wood carving. Some challenging pieces. Innovative. The building itself is reason to visit. Entry by donation.
Great little gallery with a diverse range of pieces. The staff were so wonderful and welcoming.
An absolute gem in Broken Hill. Such a beautiful gallery building with lovely exhibitions and even lovelier staff.
Central location. Great first gallery to go to. Beautiful old building (oldest building in BH?)
Wonderful local gallery, with iconic works from the artist's of the region, and Australia as well as exhibitions. A must visit
Good variety of artwork on display and free entry. Great place to while away an hour in air conditioned comfort, or if winter warm up a tad.
The beautiful art here tells the story of the local people in the outback. They also sell some art by local artists. Note during COVID times you have to book a session to view the gallery.
It’s a good point for start the town heritage street tour. After a half day walk, go inside the gallery can get more deeply to understand the town.
Fantastic regional gallery, with quality art by MacFarlane, Absolom and Pro Hart to name a few.
Not only is the building a piece of Broken Hill's history and worth stepping inside of on it's own merits, taking in the entire gallery is very much worth your time. Currently with visiting displays from Jim Paterson, Clinton Kemp and Blake Griffiths, which were as interesting as they are diverse, it was the homegrown items on display which were my favourite. With works from Pro Hart, Eric Minchin and Jack Absalom to name drop a few, you'll be able to soak up some of the rich art history of the region.
Very good regional gallery in iconic Broken Hill with some strong representations from the well known 'Brushmen of the Bush'.
Interesting artworks with good comments lift was excellent for disabled people a wide array of media and formats
