Katie has listened with compassion and empathy without any pre-conceived ideas or judgement of me. Not all counsellors or psychologists listen in this way. I believe her advice and recommendations come from this listening and understanding of me, not from a manual (although I'm sure she has read many books and studied many ideas). Katie provides a safe and comfortable space for me to reveal myself.
