Brickpit Ring Walk reviews
49 Didn’t know it existed until watching ABC documentary- the secret lives of our urban birds. It is only 5 mins walk from the free Marjorie Jackson Pkwy Public Car Parking, nice spot to take a walk and enjoy the birdview down the pond or the skyline. May need to do some homework at figuring out the timing for seeing different bird species.
The site also carries a piece of history of modern Australia, well worth the visit.
A nice place for a quiet walk. You can learn about Sydney's brick industry on your first walk, then just enjoy the peace and quiet on your subsequent visits. Few people come here probably because it's out of the way of public transport. The murals where the history is written are old and faded but still readable. The open space means it's very windy and the ring shape means only half of it is covered in shade. There are very, very few seats so expect to remain standing when you're with other people.
The brickpit ring walk was very cool. I never experienced it all my life I was a nice place to go for the morning walk or exercise.
The Brick pit is now a water recycling /reclamation area with much wildlife calling it home with many Australian birds, reptiles and frogs. Visitors can look down on everything from a massive sized ring.
We had a great family day out at this walking track. It is a great walk high above a previous brick pit. It feels a bit like a forest skywalk but has a safer feel due to the more sturdy construction. The pond is very nice but slightly polluted. There are some good city views in the distance to add to scenery. There are numerous information sections along the tract to give information about the natural environment.
Nice and pleasant walking experience. Easy car parking. I did a full circle walk. I learned a bit history of the place. Bonus: many black swans. ️
Definitely one of those places you wouldn't know existed unless you were looking for it. It seems like the rest of Sydney don't know about it either. Quite a cool walk, barely a soul to be seen when I was there.
Very nice secluded area. Short distance away from the station and a short walk in of itself. Contains informative stands with limited shelter and seats.
The view is quite unique, and shows sadly how bad algal blooms are in the waterways. As this is a habitat protection area, please leave your pets behind.
Opens at sunrise and closes at sunset. No bathrooms, but located close to parks that do.
Nice stroll with scenic lookouts. You can hear the frogs and spot a variety of species from above. It’s quite pleasant.
OMG, first time here and I was frightened and stiff due to the height. Had to keep up with friend but finally made 1 loop half paralyzed from fear from heights.
The views are nice overlooking Western side of Sydney Olympic park. The green algae in the water looks artistic as the ducks swim through. Its all good now as I’ve got used to height and have no problems doing a few loops.
Be sure to check out the Eastern Side exit which leads to a carpark and then Wenworth Common Playground and Baymarker. Definitely worth checking out too.
It's an outlook.lt has a circular path way up from the ground have a read of the history and what lives around the area and if you like the colour green then this is for you. Down below the water is covered in a rich green algae.
Umm, pretty cool really.what could make it 5 star? Some way of actually seeing the frog without hurting it.but looks like that won't ever happen
Nice place for a walk with views of lake from top, not exactly a lake but looks like it.
Habitat for bell frogs and ducks.
Alot of informations on the wall and audio description of the history of the place can be found through the speakers around the ring.
Open from sunrise to sunset.
Exactly at sunset security guy will make sure noone is in there and closed the gate.
? Excellent attraction! Sydney Olympic Park New South Wales. The family suggested that I take the ring walk, I thought it would be around the bicentennial park, but as you can see by the photos that this place is unique! Well worth a visit I’ve been four times, it’s amazing
It's free to enter and suitable for everyone. Make sure you pay for parking as the parking rangers are super keen
Nice place to walk around with few locations explaining the historical significance of the quarry which used to be there, now converted to Brickpit walk
Great to hear the history on each section of the walk. There are sensors as you approach when you activate them starts the recorded message on the speakers. You are so high up you have viewing platforms to see below.
Beautiful and hidden ring walk. Saw 10 gorgeous black swans. Don't go if you're scared of heights.
Great View and walking path. One can also listen to audio commentary on the history of brickpit. Its also a frog habitat. Easy access from parking. This place is close to shipwreck lookout too.
Beautiful and peaceful walk around the ring. Very well maintained with history information displayed on both entrances aswell as voice recording around the ring. On this afternoon we saw a turtle as well. Thankfully the park ranger was there to help put it out of harms way.
