Brickpit Park reviews
14Lovely park located near Olympic park. A pleasant walk to admire the frogs and lake. Nice views and sounds of the frogs in the afternoon makes for an enjoyable experience. Plenty of parking nearby. A nice place to relax.
Lovely walk around a great piece of Sydney's history.
Great to see what they have done with it and how they have transformed it to an estuary.
A very unique place in the Olympic park. Good for an evening walk and some seats available to relax and rest.
Nice views of the Olympic Park Precint + learning a bit of history on the way. A little annoying though that you can't skate or ride your bike on it
Lovely nice and quiet place just right in Olympic Park
Natural beauty with serene surroundings
A must place to visit for anyone who wants to get away from the hustle bustle of traffic
Across the road from Wentworth Common, a nice little walk with some interesting stuff to see below and around.
Unique place to visit with a short refreshing walk.
Lots of information about different types of frogs.
Well maintained. There is a park nearby for a fun day with bbq.
Lake in the brickpit is an amazing emerald green. Only happens once a year (4nov2018), see it while you can. Best viewed on a sunny day to see the glowing effect.
Very cool place. This pit was dug so they could get clay for bricks. The water you see below the ring walk is the recycled water used in gardens around Newington. Newington is the suburb that was the Olympic village for the 2000 Olympics. Interesting place and being on the ring walk high up above the water is cool.
Nice relaxing place if you just want something to do. Very interesting with informative boards and posters all around the ring walk.
Fantastic piece of conservation in Sydney. Short walk but very informative with some lovely views and informational tidbits that tell a fascinating story and history of the area and Sydney.
Wow, what an interesting walk and view, information boards and facades could do with some refurbishment. I random chair. A few more to pause with a relaxing view would be a treat.
Always worth a visit to the Brickpit whenever I'm in the area. I love the views, the informative signs and the fantastic photo opportunities. A great spot to kill 20 minutes or so.
The Sydney Brickpit offered spectacular views of an incredible natural phenomenon, combining nature with Sydney's rich history.
However, I would not go out of my way to experience the brickpit, but if in the area I would definitely recommend. If you are interested in the frogs which inhabit the abandoned quarry which the ring walk is situated above, don't bother, as the ring walk is so high up above the brickpit itself it is near impossible to view the frogs.
Interesting information is placed around the ring walk offering knowledge about the history of the brickpit, the rocks and geological formations of the area, and the role of the brickpit in today's society.
NOTE: Do not visit the brickpit ring walk if you have a fear of heights.
