Breenhold Gardens reviews
59 Breenhold Gardens, located in Mount Wilson in the Blue Mountains, is a stunning garden estate that encapsulates the serenity and beauty of the Australian landscape. Covering over 45 hectares, this expansive garden is a maze of flowering plants, manicured lawns, and various thematic areas that capture the imagination.
One of the most captivating features is its collection of exotic and native trees, including azaleas, rhododendrons, and cherry blossoms, which provide a kaleidoscope of color throughout the year. The garden is designed with a sense of grandeur and features classical elements like stone walls, ponds, and sculptures that blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings.
The winding pathways lead you through a diverse range of flora, offering numerous opportunities for photography and quiet contemplation. Various lookout points offer sweeping vistas of the surrounding mountains, making it a truly immersive experience.
Despite its magnificence, Breenhold Gardens is not as crowded as other tourist destinations in the Blue Mountains, offering a more peaceful experience. However, it's worth noting that the garden has an admission fee and is only open to the public seasonally, so planning ahead is advised.
All in all, Breenhold Gardens is a must-visit for garden enthusiasts and those seeking a tranquil escape amidst natural beauty. The thoughtful design and meticulous maintenance make it a standout attraction in the region.
Stunning garden, lots to see! Great for a place to picnic although best to get in early or pack light as parking is hard to get close to the entrance when it's busy. The parking is street parking but only 1 side of the road for a fair way along the street. We ended up having to park about 1km or so past the entrance and had a picnic up there before we went in as it was too far to walk with my grandparents and all the picnic stuff. Will definitely be back to explore some more and take it all in as we missed a few spots as we ran out of time.
Paid 15AUD per pax to enter this beautiful and gardens. The whole ambience was nice with the tall trees, beautiful flowers and fresh air! Would come here again next time
With beautiful manicured gardens this private property is a must see if in the area when they are open. Looking most spectacular in Autumn but definitely worth visiting anytime of the year.
Great place to visit to see autumn colours. Not too far from Sydney. Allow plenty of time to walk around and see everything.
Great experience. $15 for adult $5 for children 6+ good stroll. Will take roughly 1-2 hours depending how fast you walk. No tables for a picnic but bring some fruit on your walk.no bins so make sure to bring plastic bag to take your rubbish home
With a $15 entrance fee per person, our expectations were high. We just missed the peak of the autumn leaves, so the grounds were pretty bland with a few autumnal colours but otherwise a rough landscape. With such amazing free places to visit in the area, we will not be back.
It was a deep sigh, OK. It was as green as…. Mother Nature has her days. It’s the 20th April - due to rain last night perhaps, the floor was muddy. The garden had some of restrictions (due to renovations?). Used the discover voucher, $25/each (entrance fee was $15). Look, the stairs where the autumn leaves that get reposted a lot is not ripe yet. Wait a bit longer. My only feedback is, I suggest the Garden can do with lower entry fees, since maintenance appears a bit tired. It captures a lot of the Visitor traffic so fee wise, I think it’s possible… for what I saw today, would have preferred an update with the actual current situation of the autumn leaves… it’s a bit harsh to say it’s misleading as since there were a couple of yellow trees… but still majority green.
May will probably be better (definitely not this week) they have lots of Japanese maple leaf trees planted here and there which will
do their bare minimum requirement when it’s the right time, and undoubtedly would be beautiful…. But yes… not now, felt like they pocketed the voucher with a big profit.
I do however suggest Bebeah, if you want autumn leaves they don’t take the voucher instead their fees is $10, definitely has the colours and a well looked after garden from the outset.
If you love nature and gardening this place is for you. Friendly staff to guide you. The Map too helps when you wander around the big garden. Very clean. You can take your dog as long as it's on a leash. Good 2 hours walk around the whole place.
Dog friendly and lovely autumn trees! Can also use your dine and discover voucher which saved us $$. Good for a quiet stroll around but avoid after rain as it was more mud than grass in some parts. Could be worth getting some more toilets built too.
Very relaxing walks through established pathways among mature trees, both Australian and exotics. Wonderful views from the back of the property.
It is very beautiful garden and well maintained. Various types of trees and plants in multiple nicely designed spaces. It can get overcrowded and lose its natural look though!
I was disappointed with lack of proper parking or someone from their team to manage the traffic while some people trying to park on the side of the road. The same goes with lack of proper toilets. There was long line and smell from distance. In general poor visitor services/management given the crowd they are attracting (and charging).
Overall great place but just need toilet signs and reccommend taking cash as it's $15 for entry and eftpos was down last time we went.
Staff were very unorganised and not friendly. The gardens themselves were nice to walk around but too crowded and definitely not worth the price they're asking for entry.
Very beautiful gardens to visit during the autumn. It’s quite large and recommended to bring along something to eat and drink as one might easily get tired
Scenery: I came on Mother's day, leaves have changed color but probably wasn't the best time (yet). They have space if you want to go for picnic. However, you might re-consider it when it's only 1 toilet inside the garden and the number of visitors on the weekend is not a small number.
Parking: it's easy but you might walk a lot to walk to the entrance if it's busy.
Entry fee: $15 per person.
Beautiful garden especially in autumn. $15 per entry for adult, $5 for kids 6+. Toilets available on site.
Very large, nice and beautiful place. Very busy if you visit on the weekend and especially in Autumn season. Great for your family and food for picnic
Not that great considering you have to pay an entrance fee less than $20 but still. Probably better when leaves are still on trees and changing colour otherwise wouldn’t recommend it if you have to drive over 30 min to get to it
One of the gardens in Mount Wilson. Ample free parking outside the garden. Adult and children above six are charged entry fee. Good space to walk around and do picnic. Good for kids.
