BlocHaus Bouldering Sydney - Marrickville

I love it here. The first Bouldering Gym I've ever been to and BlocHaus is life for me.

Quite easily, my favourite bouldering gym in Sydney! The venue is nicely designed and is immediately very welcoming. The staff and friendly, helpful, and diligent. The walls have a good degree of variability and there are plenty of routes to choose from. This alone makes it a good (but not great gym), but where Bloc Haus sets itself apart is with all the little 5% areas they do very well!

They have a cafe, which unlike most places actually makes decent coffee. They have a proper strength and conditioning gym, which is well maintained and decently equipped enough to come for alone. They have a good functional training area that’s much better kept than others too. But most importantly, they have little activities, such as slack line, table tennis, and a lounge area that make it so much more social, chilled, and the kind of place you could spend half a day, no sweat!

The community vibe is also excellent, they’re dog friendly, and LGBT friendly too. The people there are sociable and that just adds to that community feel.

It’s a bouldering gym, S&C gym, and social club all in one!

Been going to blochaus for over a year now. Heaps of variety for climbs. Chill vibes but can get super busy on some evenings. Super friendly team.

Great gym, great atmosphere. Large, open and bright unlike alot of gyms, plenty of climbing walls as well as space to move around. Additional gym facilities are nice also

Great activity for friends, families and colleagues. We’ll set up and decent price considering you can also use the ping pong table and gym. The gym upstairs was surprisingly clean and well equipped with squat racks and techno gym.

Great climbing gym, good variety of climbs for every grade, clean and friendlu community. Though upstairs gym is like a sauna.

I love BlocHaus! They change the routes pretty regularly so it’s like going to a new gym every few weeks, the vibe is pretty friendly and welcoming ️ looking forward to going back!

First time today. Friendly staff that will help you out, briefing video was easy to understand everything (grading colours, safely falling etc). Spacious and plenty of variations for all grades, very clean as well. They also have a area to rest on comfortable chairs and another area for table tennis for when you want to chill a bit which was appreciated

If you’ve been to the one in Port Melbourne you’d be surprised how much bigger this place is! I dare say I prefer the setting in Port Melb though but I could be biased ;)
Wish there were more crimpy purples though!

Super fun climbing gym. The vibes and music are great and it's a nice spot to just hangout. It attracts a friendly crowd, I always try to visit every fortnight or so. Although the climbs can be quite fun and challenging, some of them can feel a bit gimmicky e.g. A lot of leaps or upside down hangs, etc. Some of the climbs stay for a bit too long wish they would reset more often. Nonetheless, this place definitely got me into bouldering would recommend for anyone starting out!

Went there for bouldering first time in my life, managed to do almost all blue ones. Nice place, you can get water refill for free and they hold some other events except for bouldering too.

Great place for new starters who wish to 'dip their toes' in the climbing scene!

Good gym. Very confused about grades with the colours, makes it slightly harder to track progress. Has a grand board setup, but anything on the splash wall is really hard since all the wooden holds are super slippery and polished with rubber, needs a good clean. Good setting and variations.
Also, feel slightly paranoid walking through the streets of Sydenham/Marrickville to get to BlocHaus. Not my favourite place to visit at night.

Currently my favourite indoor bouldering place. Walls refreshed frequently, friendly atmosphere, interesting climbs, beginner to experienced

Friendly welcoming staff, large open venue that keeps the climbs fresh, easy walk from Sydenham station.

I am 8 years old. I gave this place a 4 star rating because the staff was helpful and gave us a free bandage to help my wound get better. There is also lots of activities your kids can do to improve their bouldering. But I think it's a bit too hard for me.

Amazingly clean facilities with a pretty well decked out gym, ping pong table, rock climbing training stuff and even a tight rope.
