Bishops Lodge Museum reviews
15Interesting old building from the outside but was closed so we just wandered round the outside.
Very nice old home, with wonderful gardens out the backyard. $5 per person cash to view inside the home.
Don't rely on their website.says open Monday-Saturday 2-4: 30pm.got there at 2: 30 only to find it closed.no signs. Rang the Hay Information Office only to be told that they are only open on Saturdays. Gardens very
neglected.desperate need of some weeding and general tidying up.
Disappointed that the heritage rose garden is in desperate need of some love and attention. Weeding overdue, as is pruning and shaping, and needs a fungicide treatment.
Interesting house, large and spacious design, iron walls, lovely garden being restored
Worth the donation entry, helpful volunteers
Unique place in the bush. A bit much for one person though. But I suppose he was a bishop. Lovely gardens in spite of struggling in the drought. Knowledgeable volunteers. Hope some younger people start to help replace these people.
So beautiful, and wonderful to have someone there to tell us a little about the history, will recommend to everyone.
Wo only walked around the building which must have been a busy establishment in it day. It is open for inspection but unfortunately we had to move on
Unique historic home. Really interesting corrugated iron construction. Beautiful gardens. The roses would be spectacular when in bloom.
Beautifully historically kept Residence of first three Bishops of the Riverina and rose gardens very large job by volunteers.
Well run by the locals and they are more then happy to talk with you about the history.
Someone has put a lot of time in to trying to get the resort underway well done.
Great historic homestead with visionary modern day architectural design for the westher conditions of the area. Well worth the visit
Interesting local historical building. Interesting history explained through signs and pictures in all the rooms. Maintained by volunteers, congratulations for the great job you do here.
You have to see this place to believe how far ahead of the times the buildings really are.and lovely gardens. I hope you get David and Colleen Houston to show you around as they are excellent.
All new motel with very nice rooms only 1 minute's drive from the main street. Restaurant is a few dollars per meal more expensive than alternative in town we tried last week, but much nicer food & experience. Welcoming hosts. Highly recommend.
