Birchgrove Park reviews
41 It’s a great place to watch fireworks. I saw it recommended on Red Book. In the afternoon, we set out to watch the fireworks and there was still a spot.
It's a bit difficult to park nearby.
If you come here to watch the New Year's Eve fireworks, it is recommended to bring a power bank, picnic mat, umbrella, garbage bag, napkin, food and jacket.
Pretty spot. Neatly hidden gem on the edge of Sydney⁷ Harbour. Superb views of the Harbour Bridge.
I like this park since when my Son 5 years old.always play footy in Birchgrove Oval. Beautiful water view and can see Harbour bridge when new year for the fire wax. Love it.
Birchgrove Park
Birchgrove Oval is located on the waterfront of Sydney Harbour. Great views of Sydney Harbour
It was one of the first publicly developed parks in Sydney and is one of our premier sports and recreation venues. It is regarded as the spiritual home of rugby league in Australia because it hosted the first professional match in 1908.
Excellent location. Hopefully the bare patches mend by end of winter.would look fabulous green all over
One of my fav places for sunrise. Dogs aren’t allowed in the oval but the beach front at low tide is perfect for dogs. But overall a nice park to hang out in with or without dogs.
Nice place. Pretty well maintained. Nice little sandy bay you can go sit and watch the bay. There's a few tennis courts and a couple of football fields and cricket nets. There's a cafe that I think may be opened when there's kids playing football. The cafe is very basic but does a nice bacon and egg roll and decent coffee. All up, nice.
Really nice cricket pitch and grass and the little jetty next to it is very good fishing spot
A beautiful oval, with a waterfront view. Well maintained. Nice hilly area under leafy shades to watch the games. Take your own seats. Parking is a bit of a challenge. Get in early and you can get a park in the small lane running beside the oval. They could do with a water fountain in the hilly area and a public toilet around the tennis courts. There is just one Cafe nearby, where the prices are above average.
Went there to view New Year's Eve fireworks. Family friendly park with ample space for picnic and outdoor games.
Parking can be difficult. Parking is still difficult when it's full of activities. Bit of rehab work going on at the moment, but doesn't really block anything.
Perfect view but, limited bathroom facilities, only one unisex bathroom, no canteen. Being in Balmain, you’d expecting better establishment.
Local meeting place, views like no other Oval in Sydney surely. Little tidal beach on the bay side great for a swim or for a cool down spot for your doggy whilst on a waterfront walk
The oval at Birchgrove. It looks really well maintained with plenty of facilities so it gets 5/5 for that alone. The oval also has a good view of the Harbour Bridge a very short walk from the main facilities. Nice and decently priced cafe are also close by.
A lovely place to be.
We watched the grade cricket there under a shady tree, with toilets close at hand.
A great view of the city, with water views.
Lovely spot to settle down with a picnic but look out on windy days. Between the retainer wall and the anchored boats is a swimming beach, which is also popular with people taking their dogs for ball fetching exercises. You can clearly see the Sydney Harbour Bridge from the beach
A gem for the locals. Multiple tennis courts, cricket nets, and large enough to hold a couple of footy fields inside it with heaps of room to spare. Easy to social distance from people.
Clean, well managed and refreshing park with clean wasroom.
Worthy to go ourt with friends, family or relative
Beautiful, historic park which hosted the first game of the NSW Rugby League in 1908. Amazing cafe just opposite, called The Gladstone Store with delicious coffee. Street parking can be tricky at peak times. Park includes views of the harbour bridge, crickets nets, cricket pitch, water bubblers, dog bags, seating.
