53First of all, the staff is so friendly that it makes you feel good. I was grateful that they responded kindly even though I was not good at English. I went to have pancakes for dinner, but they weren't on the dinner menu, so I was a little confused, but I was able to order them. I added strawberries to the most popular ricotta hotcakes! I can't drink coffee, but it was sweet to drink decaf haha.
Had a disappointing experience at this busy coffee shop. Short-staffed, no clear queuing system, and poorly trained staff struggling with various tasks and customer management. Service with a frown made the atmosphere uncomfortable.
To me it was one of nice dining place to be even in the raining day, we have to line up for a seating. We couldn’t think elsewhere we want dine out can get us worthwhile to wait. Once we get in we know food and drinks will make us relaxed enjoyable. More we stay we ordered more to have but by looking the people waiting outside window we better let others not wait too long. Highly recommend bills for you.
Long waiting time for a pancake that tasted a bit too alkaline for my liking. Not the worst food and ambience but definitely not worth the 24 dollar pancake
Ordered the honeycomb butter ricotta pancakes. These are one of the best pancakes I have had in Sydney.
Cozy place, amazing service, and the food is just okay for me.but its a nice to hanging out here.
Ahh yes the ricotta hotcakes. Yikes people, calm down! At first, they're utterly delightful but after a few mouthfuls it gets very boring. It's hotcakes with raw slices of banana, some butter and some syrup - that's it! The dish would be elevated with a berry compote and maybe. I guess, maybe not paying almost $25? Ridiculous price for what they were. I also found the option of tipping for breakfast a bit odd.
Great hotcake but busy staff not attentive. Understandable but would prefer enjoy a nice brunch in a non fast paced place
Highly recommeded! Cannot fault any dish - Ricotta Hot Cakes was amazing so worth the trek to surry hills! Our waiter was so accomodating & went above and beyond!
Staff are very good; bubbly and friendly but taking into consideration tiny portion sizes (both food and drinks), long wait times and the high prices, Bills is definitely overhyped and overrated.
What an amazing place for brunch, we were a group of 4 and left very happy with the quality and serving size of the food. The black sesame latte is great same as the open cheese and green kimchi sandwich. Hot cakes were also delicious
Bad bad and bad. For a mother's Day is was bad. 30min wait for seating as there was no booking available for the special Day.
We ordered straight away. 30mins later one chai came out 10min later one cap comes out 10mins after
that 2x flatwhite cold i did drink mine and a one hot chocolate.so then we wait a further 15mins and our food comes out.food was average for the price. But quick to see if we are finished when we are still eating.will i return NO would I recommend NO.
Unfortunately it took over 35 mins to receive our food and never did receive our drinks. Once it did arrive, my food was cold so must've been sitting out for a while. My partner's hot cakes were good though. Also was pretty expensive compared to others.
Bought a large coffee about a week ago and cost i think $5.30 or $5.70, i dont think i have ever paid over $5 for a coffee in my life and it wasnt bad but it wasnt the best coffee i had
Amazing cafe in Surry Hills. We did have to wait a while for a table, but it was with the wait. The Full Aussie breakfast was delicious, and the hotcakes are a must try. The staff are super friendly, and coffee is really good too.
2nd edit: they asked me to send my contact via email and the manager will contact me, but apparently they never did.
Edit: changing the review from 5 to 1 as the second visit was bad experience unfortunately. The service was horrible.
My wife ordered 2 eggs on toast, while she still had 1 egg and 1 toast left on plate. The waitress just came and took the plate and said “I think you’re already full”. Yes I admit she’s a slow eater, the waitress had asked a couple times before if she had finished (when she said no), and there’re still quite a lot of people queuing outside. But this doesn’t justify the behaviour. Under no circumstances you could just took the food away from your customer, without asking if she’s finished. With the amount of food left on plate, you didn’t even have the courtesy to ask if we’d like to take away.
We understand it’s super busy, but if you had asked nicely, we’d be happy to take away and leave.
First visit: Loved the place! Food is really tasty (though slightly more expensive than average), and service is good. Only thing is you gotta wait for 30min on a weekend.
Bonzer tucker. Bosker deco decor. Snodger service. Loved the ricotta pancakes and the nduja rice with prawns, mushrooms and poached egg.
Had breakfast there this morning and it wasn't a good experience.
The manager arranged the table and the baby seat really fast and was very polite.
Servers were very confused, we got wrong coffees and waited over 30min for our dishes because the male server forgot to order 2 of 5 dishes. We only got our food when a complaint was made directly with the manager. Food wasn't seasoned (side of mushrooms had no flavour at all), no salt, very spciy (huge amout of chili flakes in both rye toasts with avo/rosti really spicy as well and undercooked) and a huge amount of coriander on 4 of the 5 dishes.
Manager and a female server were very polite and professional, didn't charge us for the coffee's that's why I'm giving 3 starts otherwise would be 1.
I was extremely impressed with the options for breakfast and atmosphere. Definitely would recommend for brunch. We were also served by a really lovely lady who made the experience even better I do recommend this place to all people here in Sydney. I wish we had a cafe like this in Melbourne?
Lovely spot for brunch! The staff are super nice and friendly. We tried the ricotta pancakes and it was super fluffy! They don’t take bookings for breakfast or lunch though. But overall I would definitely recommend trying this place
