Billabong Zoo: Koala & Wildlife Park reviews
46 Always a great place to go, walking around is nice and easy, even with it being school holidays it was not very busy.
Family pass is the best value, if you plan to go a couple times a year.
It was really fun going there with my family the animals were all cute. The best part was the presentation.
A very well managed, educational, clean, friendly and professional zoo. It is well priced as a family excursion, it has a clear focus on customer enjoyment and conservation. On entering the zoo, the owner discussed with us the size of crocodiles stomach and how much they eat, very interesting! A great variety of animals, and all the animals look well cared for.
If you must know disappointing. We drove up from Taree and checked in and proceed to do the walk around.
Saw Spider Monkeys, wombats asleep and Meer Cats, then the rain started. We tried to tuff it out only to become very damp. We sat the storm out in the tabled area. Being lunch time we decided to buy some thing to eat. The only items ready to go at 1235 pm were 2 pies and muffins.
This was purchased and 1 mug of coffee and one cup of tea. We ate our pies, very nice then waited 55minutes for the beverages to arrive. And the storm raged on. It appeared very underresorced for any volumn food service. The 2 young ladies were very nice and obviously doing their best to try and deliver ordered meals and clean up.
A suggestion buy 50 Bunnings umbrella's and have them for hire at a nominal fee.
We would have liked to continue with our visit as it was still sprinkling had to make the decision to drive home. Being pensioners our entry fee was not used up for a part day and many more animals to see. My wife has been twice before with grandchildren and had a excellent day at the Zoo. Unfortunately my visit was washed out.
If the weather is good it would be a great place to visit.
Fantastic little zoo.
Had a lot of animals
Great variety
The crocodile show was awesome
Great for kids and adults
Great day out.
Nice Cafe
Clean amenities
Its a bit steep for 35dollars considering there are no active talks or shows to see. There's not a lot of animals as well but there were a few interesting ones to see. Koala's are also very easy to see in this place. But comparing it with a larger zoo like taronga. Pricing is a bit on the high side.
It's a great place to see the animals up close and in good condition. All enclosures are very clean, well maintained and linked by pathways easily traversed (even by wheelchair) within a nicely compact and beautiful, somewhat tropical setting complete with ponds and shady trees.
They do good work here.heaps of animals to see. We expected koalas and kangaroos, but there were heaps, dingoes, we saw a huge crocodile getting fed, there is an area where you can feed and pet wallabies and wallaroos. There are a few lions, particularly impressive they were, and some other big cats too.
The animals seem well looked after, enclosures are clean, the zoo is well maintained (appart from one walkway which is blocked off, having fallen into water). Theres a kids play area near the cafe which i had to drag our 2 year old away from. Only one criticism, the signage and maps could have been a bit easier to understand, there were a few moments of confusion as we made our way through.
Brilliant visit, came a few years ago too, and the changes have been sensational. The enclosures are all looking awesome. The Guy at the front counter was EXCELLENT, went above and beyond. Our 3 kids aged 2-8 had the best time. The QR codes for keeper talks was a great feature, the UTube videos also a good idea and nice to have at home for the kids to extend the visit.
Couldn't recommend this little zoo more highly.
Great pit stop just off the highway.
Thanks For a wonderful afternoon
- Awesome animals
- Park was a bit empty / older
- Staff weren't doing any shows/talks due to covid
- Cafe food looked amazing but tasted very bland
This was out 4th visit and the worst of the 4 sadly.
What a wonderful place. The park is very well kept. The animals enclosures are well maintained. It was a great day out for our whole family with childrens ages ranging from 15 to 2. We were able to close to some spectacular animals and also learnt a lot from the information signs posted.
Great place for little kids as all the animal attractions are close. Enclosure talks weren't on due to covid which is the only reason why I didnt give it 5 star. This is the 2nd time we've been and loved it!
Look it is good but a bit sad as well. Enclosures are small with pacing animals. Made me a bit sad for the animals. In saying that the workers obviously live the animals and care for them well. Cages etc very clean animals look very healthy.
Amazing.great for a morning visit. Spend the extra money and get an animal experience. Totally worth it.
Wonderful zoo. A lot of endangered species there. Great reptiles house. Although a smaller zoo it is great for education especially children.
Good choice of meals or snacks from cafe.
Very well set out. The exhibits were interesting, informative and interactive. Great place to visit. Well worth the money.
We had a fabulous day at Billabong Zoo!
It was kept so clean and tidy and all the staff were so inviting. Great layout.
