BIG4 Great Lakes at Forster Tuncurry reviews
65We stayed in the 3 bedroom cabin no 39 opposite the pool. 5 days before we arrived they emailed us to say that the main pool would be closed for 4 of the 6 days while we were there. Cant understand why they didnt do the maintenance during winter. Last year the price was $340 per night shoulder. It has just gone up to $580 per night. How can people on a budget afford that? The facilities in the cabin will have to improve a lot if they are going to charge that kind of Money.
*UPDATED*
After coming here for many years, this will be our last stay.the cabin we book every year has almost doubled in price ($340 to $600 per night) and to top it all off we received an email a week out from our stay (which has been booked for a year) we were told that a large portion of the amenities will be closed!
Great location, park is very well maintained, staff are great and friendly. I couldn't fault the place, we will be back next year
We had hired a cabin with two bedroom with a lake view. The Lakeview from our cabin was very beautiful. The place is very family friendly. The cars move around with most caution of kids and pets. The pool was nice and the kids enjoyed the water slide. The cabin was neat and all necessary amenities were provided. There is a Woolworths 4mins drive away and that was pretty handy. The only issue we had was the internet connectivity. But if you are up for staying with no digital interruption this should not be an issue.
Great spot. There is a large reserve on the waterfront. Not sure if it belongs to the caravan park or council or whatever, but it has bbqs and tables/benches allowing the park guests to watch the sunset.
All the powered sites are 100% covered in astroturf, so you get a sort of valet experience when the staff park your van with a tractor. There is an non-heated pool with a couple of small slides. Some kids were in there today. (Late June)
As seems to be the thing in NSW/QLD there is no screening/bushes between sites so there is a little compromise to privacy.
Great place, large campsites. Just a little pricey for a simple camp setup. Overall a fantastic place with great amenities
Don't believe them when they tell you where your site will be. Told us we'd be by the boat ramp side by side with our friends. We booked months ago. So could of told us then. The girl that booked us in was from the central coast maybe we should ask her
Great facilities, close to restaurants, clean and tidy cabins… only spoilt a little by a couple of selfish, belligerent entitled 80 something male residents (who apparently have permanent caravans elsewhere within the park incidentally) who park their 4x4’s & boat trailers at the rear of the cabins all day whilst they go fishing in their tinnies but stopping guests from being able to park their cars alongside their allotted cabins, with their entitled attitude,
“I’ve been parking here for 35 years and no one’s asked me to move before! ”
Thumbs up to Management regardless for keeping the place neat, tidy and ensuring a relaxing holiday without the usual bogans found elsewhere in other parks. The place was super-quiet after 8pm every night which is perfect for those with young kids.
Haven't stayed there yet but have booked in and had a look around Place looks great have now booked in for 3 days
Our waterfront pet-friendly cabin was spotless - Immaculately clean. Wi-fi does not work however, Sorry kids! Pools are heated, so good for swimming in not perfect weather.
Lovely place to stay grounds are tidy.office staff are wonderful.dog friendly.great place for families and close to beaches and river great walking areas.close to shops enjoyed our stay
A great place to stay. Sites are spacious and the valet parking of the van is really great and makes it all easy. The facilities are great and the staff exceptional. Friendly and efficient.
Arrived last night but had the best service ever. Small tractor saved us the stress of parking the van, a blessing for us. Lovely park, looking forward to enjoying our time here.
Fabulous, modern, clean and brilliantly appointed holiday park. One of the best we've stayed at. Superb amenities; especially the individual ensuite bathrooms in the amenities block. Great walks, friendly and welcoming staff. Good, level and dry sites with plenty of room to stretch out. Highly recommend this place.and did I mention the sunsets and the small lake with it's own boardwalk? Heaven!
We saw many dolphins. The walk to the various lookout spots was not difficult. Spectacular views. No parking issues. Other areas around this spot said "no dogs" which I thought was very unfriendly, but there was no notice here.
What a caravan park. One free coffee, 2 heated pools, discount in fish and chips shop, they valet parked our van, artificial grass, absolutely huge site, stunning ensuit. Pet friendly. This park is 5+ stars.
We had our rubbish picked up every morning so you need to leave it outside. They also give you a new rubbish bag. The WiFi is strong, the water pressure is great for shower too. The customer service is fantastic, all employees were kind and helpful. I posted this review on different Facebook pages and I received 50 replies booking in. Thank you!
Cabin was spotless, with everything you could possibly need. We travelled with a pet and there was a welcome pack for him as well. Staff on check in and check out could not have been more helpful and pleasant. We stayed one night on the way to a destination BUT on our return this park will be a destination for about a week. Clean, peaceful, close to everything and setting beautiful.see you soon
This is fantastic caravan park in a perfect location. It has a beautiful swimming pool and lots to keep the children entertained. The amenities are spotless and the park is immaculate. I will definitely return and will recommend it to my friends.
Wow! Even with a weekend of rain our stay was exceptional. Our cabin was fresh, clean and ready for a weekend taking it easy watching the rain drops. The kids loved the heated pool (as did I) which was perfect to break up the naps and eating unnecessarily. The cafe had tasty options for us to enjoy.
I think this is one of the greatest Big4 holiday park I ever visited. The stuffs are very professional and friendly. Facilities are always clean and well taken care of by the tireless camp stuffs. Pool is great for the kids to have fun with. The lake next to the park looks great and there are few BBQ area in it. Wifi speed are not bad (about 20mb/s download and 4~7mb/s upload).
Unfortunately this area is in controlled air space so you can't fly your drone around this area.
Overall, we had a pleased family stay at.this park and definitely this will be our no1 choice if we come here again!
Great park, staff are excellent, always clean amenities, close to shopping center, has own boat ramps, good value
