Dog friendly, and a lovely walk and not too busy at all. There are a few trails to choose from & not super hard.

It is a short hiking trail if you do not want to hike for that long and close by. It is a short drive if you live in the west.

There isn't much to see, but a good place for hiking exercise. Just be careful with the trail as there is an area that is a dead end and leads you to a cliff and would be dangerous if you go after a rainy day and the rocks are slippery.

As soon as you descend into the small, boulder lined canyon, the sounds of the city disappear. At sunset the sound of parrots is deafening. This was my go to place during the pandemic. I could be miles away in the Blue Mountains, Wollemi or Newnes wilderness areas. If you want to learn to ID plants this is the best area. It is a confluence of 4 vegetation types. There's mobile reception. You can use apps like iNaturalist or Plants of SE NSW.

Easy track Can be a bit slippery in places after rain.
Listen out for birds, frogs & trickle of the creek. Big old gums are magnificent. Lots of photo opportunities. Please take your rubbish home! Dogs MUST be on leash.

Was great. Easy walk that we could take slowly. My 4 boys (6yrs -2yrs) walked the whole thing. A few stairs here and there can be hard for anyone who has trouble with stairs but a good beautiful walk

The place is an absolute gem. Lush peaceful trails with Grand-Canyon vibes - mossy rocks, babbling windy creeks and rainforesty ferns & eucalypts.

Be warned however that signage is poor, there are several forks, side trails and creek crossings not marked, so be mindful of your bearings and allow extra time for getting lost or retracing steps. Some areas are currently cordoned off for maintenance and the creek is sewage contaminated.

We commenced the walk from Ted Horwood reserve car park on Renown road, again no clear signage to the start of the trail which is near the tennis courts.

No toilets on the trail but available at the reserves.
