Berry Island Reserve Playground reviews
23Public toilets, fenced playground, great bush walk around Berry Island. Good picnic spot on the waters edge
Huge lawn area with beautiful waterfront view. Has public toilet and one gas bbq. Has a small playground and round returned track. However there are very limited street parking and no disabled parking. No shelter and no shade.
What a beautiful view of Sydney from the Berry Island Reserve walk.
I've never seen Sydney from this perspective before
Lovely spot for a short walk, easy to find quiet areas, green space and play equipment for the kids
Free park beside the road
Small play ground for kids
Small beach from where you can use your own kayak or stand up paddle, etc
Bushwalking track
City view
Lots of different playground equipment in a separate children's area and close proximity to the rest on the reserve, grass area, rocks, walking track and small beach.
Great playground and area to run around. The track around the headland is nice. The playground has good shade in the morning and to mid afternoon, although it gets quite hot and sunny late afternoon as it is west facing. There are two electric BBQs. And pretty good toilet facilities with a change table in the disabled toilet.
There are two picnic tables 6-8 person size.
The only difficulty of having a picnic is the wind, and the lack of shade over the main grassy area.
Really nice small areas with a few short walks and an amazing playground near the waterfront. Would be the perfect place for a mother yoga group while there kids playing together at the playground:)
What to say, I have been to 3 kids parties here. There are Park benches to sit on to watch the kids muck around. There are gates but u still need to pay attention as it opens all the time when other people go in and out. Once out the kid may drown on other side of the field as it is the sea.
U can take your kid on the little bushwalk around the reserve, it's a really small loop so don't worry, I can run the whole track in a few minutes. U can see the city at the lookout pt
If u or your kids can walk, consider taking the bushwalk from the station down from the kids park at Wollstonecraft station, it's shaded and more fun than walking down the steep road. I hate walking up the road as I had to push them up in a pram when they were younger, so I make my kids walk the bush walk instead now they can walk.
If heading from Berry Island reserve, it is the left side of the road past the first 3 buildings
Good playground, flattish grass for casual ball sports, bushwalk around the peninsula, views of the city, further bushwalks to Wollstonecraft or Waverton stations - lovely! The little beach isn't always the cleanest (unfortunately our harbour has lots of plastic in it), and there can be a wind tunnel making the picnic table areas chilly.
Amazing experience for NY, just wish people were more responsible and clean up after themselves after party
Amazing playground, a bbq right next to it, so while the kids are playing, the grown ups can have cook some food.
A favourite for local families. The playground can get quite busy on weekends. Get in early to nab a spot!
Great open space with views across the water to the Sydney city-scape. Great for a kick around with the kids with a ball or flying a kite. BBQ station and great play park for smaller kids. There is also a nice, short walk around the headland. Easy trail for small kids and bonus aboriginal rock painting/carving half way around.
Beautiful reserve close to the heart of the city, with the remnants of an Aboriginal midden. Great for a leisurely walk through nature and a quick history lesson.
One of my favourite picnic spots. They have two free gas BBQ's, a lot of space to put picnic mats, a large fenced off play area of the kids, and from here a lot of walking trails. There are a lot of shady spots.
Great place for kids birthday parties. Playground fully fenced off. At the back is a small strange boatshed Has a nice climbing frame that has a tree as a backdrop Can do a quick bushwalk around the front up the hill (outside the park). Very relaxing place. It was high tide when we were there so could not notice a beach. Water can get a bit rough too. If you are going by train, the walk up the hill will wear you out if u r not fit, esp with nagging kids.
Beautiful playground. Swing set for babies/toddlers and for bigger kids, climbing house with two slides, mini swing, climbing nets, bouncy boards and more. Partially in the shade of a big tree.
Benches for the moms as well. Everything looks fairly new and well designed. The nice views are a nice point as well.
Kids love it.water and city views, ample grass area, nice trail walks, BBQ and enclosed playground.
