Bengong's Tea & Bakery Rhodes reviews
14 Very close to the station which was nice.
Refreshing Mango flavoured drink options and perfect timing for a freshly baked taro egg tart
The worker who served me mixed up my order which was already given late. When I confronted her, she just didn't even try to remake it or hide the fact that she didn't want to do it and just put a half-done pudding on top of the wrong order. I was a bit taken back how she unlike the other workers was a bit rude in her manners.
Over the years I have always wanted to try Bengong and their cakes. So for my sisters birthday I ordered a Strawberry Rainbow cake as I thought she might like the design. Today my mother went to pickup the cake and they said they didn't receive any Birthday cake with this name and decorations (payed extra for). They said they were only a pickup point and there's nothing they could do. No decorations or even candles. I suggest anyone that wants a cake for a special day or celebration to not come here. My order number is 3382 ordered on nov 6th.
In the evening I ordered a cup of milk tea, five mochi and an egg tart. When I got home to eat, I discovered that one mochi was missing. The experience is a bit poor.
Delicious milk tea with flavoured konjac cubes. They serve a mini size drinks here which is perfect for a light snack.
Their purple rice matcha drink was passable but their matcha red bean mochi bread was horrendous. Their honeydew cream bread was also bad with a very bad aftertaste that was akin to stomach acid after vomiting not even kidding. Will only go to LAB at Strathfield.
Edit*: WE ATE IT AT THE PLACE SO REFRIGERATION DID. NOT. MATTER...
This place literally has the best boba bubble tea.straight real deal ingredients.the taro is real and taste amazing.juat tried the watermelon cheezo.a cream cheese topping that mixes perfectly with the crushed watermon juice.very good teas! Worth the trip!
Regular customer of Bengong, tried almost all the drinks on the menu, love the Bengong fruit tea, purple rice yogurt, and osmanthus oolong tea with cream cheese foam, their freshly baked bread was yummy too, even my one year old boy love it, one of the guy (guess he is the Manager/Owner) and one of the short hair lady was friendly and considerate.
Their drink varieties are good from tea to crushed fruits. I recommend trying the wuwu pearl drink (brown sugar with black jelly pearl) they r yummy.
Their cheezo drinks are also best. Cheezo is like this savoury cheese that is surprisingly tasty with the drink. Try it at least once. Their wuwu oreo sundae is good too. The staffs at Rhodes are friendly too. Recommended place to chill, snack and have a good drink.
It is become my local coffee shop. I'm here almost daily trying new things. The coffee roasted by adore coffee roasters is amazing plus the dirty mango tea is flawless. Fresh mangoes are always welcome. Try this place for their tea n coffee. You won't be disappointed.
(Rhodes store)
Nothing wrong with the drinks, but the service I received was terrible. I wasn't familiar with the menu so I asked the girl at the counter if they did pearl milk tea, she said yes (which is wrong). I tried to ask/understand what else they had but she very rudely interrupted me and asked if I was done with my order because there was a line (store was empty when I started my order, a group of 3 came in as I was talking and was looking at the menu, so not like there was a queue of people waiting for ages). I wasn't taking up time and wasn't trying to make others wait. So I quickly asked for a taro drink as well since she didn't seem to want to help. She incorrectly thought I was changing my order, and when I tried to explain I wanted two drinks (the pearl milk tea and taro) she interpreted it as me asking for sizes and kept repeating the sizes to me. After she finally realised I wanted two drinks, she put it through. Before payment, I double checked with her and repeated that I wanted less ice and sugar. She impatiently said yes.
Got my order to take away (guy was nice). But when I got home, realised she asked for my drinks to be less ice, less pearls.
1. She rushed me and didn't understand my order and questions.
2. She got it wrong, after giving me attitude for checking my order.
Won't be going back, sorry.
Great new colorful spot in Rhodes with an assortment of baked good and drinks. Some items were better than others, price point is a bit high but it's the latest and greatest at the moment so there is high demand for this stuff. Will be back to try more.
Waiting at counter for 5 minutes, staffs are busy doing their own things and completely ignored me (pretty sure they saw me but just didn't care for some reason, the store wasn't busy at all). Worst experience ever.
Friendly staff, but food not the best. Ordered Peach Fruit Tea and it was not to my liking, and warm. Cold drink would have quenched the thirst. My concern is cakes with cream all in a hot display cabinet with heat lights - surely food with cream should be keep cool. Some weird food too. Chicken drumstick in bread bun? Will appeal to some.
