Banksia Mental Health Unit

Had the worst 2 weeks of my life here.
Almost all the nursing staff did not care about any patients.
I suffer with my mental illness alone now, never wanting to return

A mentally abusive place that has staff that torment the people in care and abuse their authority. They threaten and are rude and uncaring and lie.

Banksia Mental Health Unit is run like a prison, nurse's are mean and nasty hopeless, heartless, cold hearted, there bed manner is disgusting, they keep on covering up there corruption. Family Members send money & gifts refuses to hand it over there mobile phone to contact other family members, no art therapy, or no life skills programs, no probelm solving courses, or tafe course, you have no privacy even using the bathroom, and the toilets, they are picking on few patients 1 women patient, 1 male patients to calm them down they use some drug induced lobotomy on the patient to shut them up, no free time or no cigarettes court yard & canteen,

Banksia mental health centre like to send there patients to public guardian when they don't need it, a nurse called Jodie is verbally abusive towards patients, a occupational therapist called Kate loves putting patients into care, has no respect towards patients family & patient, treat patient like second class citizen, no life skills programs, no mental health rehabilitation courses, no social skill courses, anger management course, patients are drug up off there trees like zombies every patient are slow & weak in physical wise after medication taken
I would avoid armidale hospital, Glen innes hospital, tentfield hospitals, the manning hospital, inverell hospital they will if you have a mental health illness

Absolutely disgraceful. Facilities are disgusting, no smoking areas whatsoever. 30% of the nurses and dr's are rude, disrespectful and couldnt care less about the patients. Got held here against my will, after that they stole my jacket which had alot of sentimental value and was the only thing i saved from the floods. Then told me when i get released i have to find my own way back home which is a 2.5 hr drive. Nurse chez honestly should be fired, never seen a nurse be so useless and rude, she makes a point of irritating patients to the point where they become agrovated, then refuses to provide any assistance. 0/10 avoid the place best you can
