63 Authentic Thai (BKK) experience. They've taken a crack in a wall and turned it into something wonderful.
Great food, friendly staff, lovely atmosphere.
Fantastic late night dinning, especially after attending Capital Theatre. Brings a slice of Bangkok to Sydney.
Had a lovely time with my friends. We ordered Salmon salad with Plara sauce, was the best and we also had Tom Sab, Fried pork, Beef salad which was mice and tender too.
I used to have good meal here but this time i'm disappointed. Sticky rice is undercooked. Bbq pork cheek has too much fat. Lin fish salad is too salty.
Have been to @ Bangkok Thai restaurant for more than a decade and they never let us down. Customer service is great and the foods are very tasty. Given 4 star due to the price increase as I believe the food proportion should get adapted as well.
In an already saturated Thai restaurant market in the Sydney CBD, this by far the best of them all with their food sooooooooooooo dam delicious! Service was great too!
Quite tasty and delicious authentic Thai food. The dishes were very tasty and spicy:) with generous portion sizes. It gets quite busy at dinner time so it is a good idea to book. Very friendly and helpful staff.
A great restaurant overall. The food is tasty and always on point. It is more on the pricey side but the food is delicious.
First time dining here from a recommendation. Yum Pla Foo was one of the best dishes I had there. Very unique dish.
Food were great, service is a hit and miss I suppose. I came with groups of friends before as well.
The server who attended our table last night didn’t talk much and couldn’t explain about the dish when a question was asked. She took our orders as i pointed out the pictures but didn’t repeat it to confirm again which an experienced server would do.
Another thing was while I was dining, she ran past me while opening a soft drink bottle and just right beside me, the soda just splashed on my face and my bag which startled me and my friend sitting across. She continued to run off to give that drink to the other table and a while later came back to apologise. It would be nicer to have attended and provide something to wipe when it first happened. We’re all shocked as all of the sudden soda splashed on the face and was ignored by the staff. I hope the management should invest a little more to train front of house staff to be more hospitable and communicate better in future.
I was here for work, for a day or two. Was having dinner somewhere else, after dinner I heard a live band performing.
So I followed the music and chance upon this place.
Ordered the fried chicken to go along with my tower of beer.
Chicken was really delicious.
All in all, I enjoyed the atmosphere.
The live band performance.
Such a pity that I needed to leave early for work.
If I ever have to come Sydney for work again, I’ll definitely come here again. Hope the live band is a daily affair.
Supper on Friday night with no booking sounds impossible at @Bangkok! The staffs managed to find us a table to chill and dine. Even though we were only allowed to stay for 1 hour due to no booking, the staffs were kind enough to not rush us to finish our food and drinks.
Always love the live band and the vibe at this restaurant.
What an amazing place. Great food, music, atmosphere. "Never ignore the local's knowledge" - that's where the Thai expats go.
Disappointed with the service.
Arrives around 8pm, restaurant half empty.
Sat down and ordered straight away. Waited for 25mins but nothing came to us, not even tap water or cutlery.
Asked another waitress to check on our order and bring some water. She did, and told us our order has JUST been put into the system and brought us a table number stand.
Ordered 5 items, 1 never came, 2 incorrect. We couldn’t be bothered to tell the staff the orders were incorrect coz we’ve waited long enough and we’re starving. Can’t wait any longer.
VERY disappointed with the poor and unprofessional service, with the price we paid for the food which weren’t even what we ordered!
Wanted just a quick lunch before the theatre. Ordered and waited around for 25 mins with no food (keep in mind we ordered things intentionally that are fast to make). When I went to inquire what was going on, they said it will be another 2 mins. 5 mins later we were cutting it too close and had to cancel our order which they weren’t too happy about. Pretty shockingly bad service which is a shame considering the rest of the reviews on the food are good - too bad we didn’t get to try any. No real excuse for the poor timing considering there were hardly any customers there and people who ordered way after us, were nearly finished their meals before I asked what was going on - it seems like they forgot about us.
This place is awful. Bad and Very slow service, we ordered our food and waiting for the food almost an hour waiting and I went to ask them about food, one of the staff who was on POS said to me sorry I billed your order can you please pay now and I said ok I will apay and I paid the bill, and we are waiting for the order and I went to them and asked them about my order, and they simply said we are sorry we going to prepare your order and I ask them if the food is not prepared return back my money I want to leave they simply said ok take your money and go. I think they only look after and serve Thai people. Because I noticed who came after me had their food on their table. Its very very bad experience to me, and Non-English speaking staff; I wouldn't recommend it to you guys.
Horrible experience! As I got there, they asked me to wait and I waited for 20 in line and as it was my turn to get in, they refused to let me. They wouldn’t give me any reason as to why they wouldn’t let me in. Avoid this place at all cost! Staff seemed really chaotic and unfriendly!
Best Massaman curry of all the Thai restaurants I’ve been to in Sydney, and also friendly service which isn’t so common at Sydney Thai restaurants! Will be coming here regularly!
Authentic Thai food with an extensive menu and some cool deco. Well worth a visit if you're in the area with reasonable prices and fast friendly service. Try the Asahi Black on tap! Open till real late.
The restaurant was full by the time we were about finishing our dinner. The service was fast but not so much for the food. It took a while for the second dish to come out after the first. Although the fish floss was quite nice, the rest of the food was average. Price was reasonable and service was friendly.
