Balmoral Baths reviews
11 In the middle of Balmoral’s harbour beach, this old-school bathing enclosure first opened in 1899 and was fitted with shark nets from 1958.
It’s pretty cute, wrapped on three sides by a wide, raised boardwalk that provides both places to sit and a launching platform for the many who like to jump in from on high, plus plenty of ladders for the rest of us. There’s very flash outdoor and indoor showers and change facilities, as you’d expect from a rich LGA like Mosman, plus cafes and restaurants if you’re feeling flush… a bacon & egg roll with coffee from across the road costs $15!
Parking is pretty pricey too unless you’re lucky enough to pick up one of the free 2-hour street parks like we did, but being early helps. This is definitely one of the better harbour baths, but we’d only return if we were up and about early-ish during summer.
Gets pretty packed so best to go either really early or a little late. Really good spot to swim kids loved it
Bit busy and parking issues around the area. Bring nice big mats with holders otherwise it’s super windy
Love this place, the jetty area we normally go to catch fish. Good place to walk around and swim.
One of my favourite family beach in Sydney. Accessible, breathtaking views, steady water and so much more
It may be called a bath but I do not recommend cleaning yourself here. I was shampooing my hair one morning when a local got very angry at me.
A brilliant swimming spot for doing lengths. A naturally protected bay, little to no waves, safe and with ladders to the water. Close by hot showers, cafes and parking. Highly recommend.
Probably one of the best parts of Balmoral Beach - Great sunrises can be seen here and it’s great fun to jump off the jetty and swim in the net-enclosed area. Although, this part of the beach is prone to getting extremely busy on hot days in which case, this area is not recommended for relaxing or lying down. The Balmoral Beach Kiosk is also just right around the corner for an amazing coffee and snack or full lunch meal for the family.
This is natural swimming pool.part of th bay is segregated with nets and we can swim there.nice place to take your family and swim. From the bridge, stares are put to enter the water.
Awesome place for a swim, really family friendly with lots of parks and safe swimming for the kids
Good place for swimming and playing with water. I try to do lap swimming and sometime get distracted with other people who jump into the water and there is some seaweed stuck in my hand (not a lot but). It quite big net pool though with deep water in the end of the pool. Park it quite challenging some of the ticket parking in front of the area and some free if you willing to walk a bit, in sunnyday its hard to get it.
There is toilet next to the pool with 2 warm water shower and outside shower too.
I hope there is BBQ facility in this area but I couldn't find it
