Ballina Naval and Maritime Museum reviews
24So much Australian & foreign Naval history in one building. The Kon Tiki raft is there too, the 2nd expedition. If you're in Ballina, make the effort to pay your respects to the past and the volunteers who keep it in good condition.
Great museum with very knowledgeable staff. Lots to keep kids entertained. Indoor only so suitable for all weathers.
Very informative and interesting. Great displays. Even the kids are given interactive learning and treasure hunts. I highly recommend this for a family day out or as one.
Very interesting, all sorts of boats, ships, rafts and heaps of information. Worth seeing.
Very friendly staff and lots of fun for the kids - they loved the treasure hunt and prizes at the end. Was definitely something for everyone. Recommended
I was really surprised. You get to see so many things with a really cheap ticket. Highly recommended. We were on our way to Gold Coast and wanted to stop somewhere. Found this on the map and really enjoyed our visit.
A wonderful collection and display of our nautical history. The quality and quantity of ship models is second to none.
Nice volunteers working there to help you explain the questions you have. They are nice and helpful.
The La Balsa raft is well worth a visit. Everything is very well presented and relatable. The volunteers have done a great job.
Fantastic museum with so many incredible artifacts, boating relics, model boats and stories about Australian naval history. Well worth a visit on a rainy day.only $5 for an adult best value museum that you could easily immerse your self in for an hour or two
Went here yesterday and found it interesting the huge number of model ships plus all the interesting history associated with naval and maritime history. Such an amazing experience
The display of the raft that came all the way from South America is unique. This is a little told story that is brought to life in the museum.
Spent 2 hours in this place and the missus didn't complain once. Now that's saying something! Could've spent even longer in here, and the staff are a wealth of knowledge. Super friendly too. For the small price you pay, get down here and support this project. It's well worth it.
This place was a surprising and pleasant find. Happened to walk past and thought I'd check it out. Really interesting exhibits and the staff were very informative and friendly. Highly recommended and worth the visit.
Great displays of all things Naval as well as the Balsa Raft and 1.5 hour movie of their trip across the oceans.
Best feeling ever walking in there seeing the boats my father Don Hinchliffe made with his own hands
Plenty of time needed to look at all the wonderfull, interesting exhibits
Excellent displays.
Excellent display, very diverse. Wheelchair and disability friendly. Easy to find and good for older kids and up
Excellent display of Navel and Maritime memorabilia. A lot of different since here 2 years ago.
