Badcoe VC Rest Area reviews
22Great spot for a rest stop. Probably ades to its beauty was that there was lots of water and birds.
Great view over Lake George and worth a stop in. There's parking, toilets and picnic benches. Was pretty dirty and littered with rubbish when we visited.
Only gets a three star this one as it's a bit small, no toilets, no water, but it has a great view.
Interesting lake with this quirky windmill on a hot day. The water seems a bit murky, natural colour or not I am not sure. Good place to stop though!
It's just a simple resting area. No bathrooms, water or barbecue. It could be better. Nice spot to see the lake George when full.
There are several good rest areas off the Federal Highway as it passes alongside Lake George.
The Badcoe VC Rest Area is ideal for an RV stop. It has space for at least one rig and a turnaround point. There is also a covered picnic table; nil ablutions though.
Views are great as is a frog swamp amphitheatre, which was in full concert while we were there.
For a quick appreciation of Major Peter John Badcoe, VC, and his service to Australia, look him up on Wikipedia.
Good place for have a pause after driving long. Have good public toilets, drinking water dispenser, trash bins, lots of parking, sitting arrangements, play area.
Good place for rest when travelling from Sydney to Canberra. We had Best morning view, spent some peaceful time.
I love this beautiful lookout, a very nice stop on the way to Canberra
Very highly recommend we d
Great view, tables and chairs and parking, can turn a car and van around.
No toilets.
I know from previous visits that the view of Lake George is good here, but in late January 2020 there was so much smoke that the view was quite hazy
Lake George. Beautiful expansive peace of landscape. It's a shame the wind turbines spoil the backdrop. If your keen on paragliding, then meet some of the risk takers, over the fence and up the hill, only for the steady on foot though as you'll need to be sure of your footing.
Good to see our heroes being recognized and good facilities to boot. Great to stop and stretch your legs. Maybe a storyboard could be added.
No loo here but there are bushes and you look across Lake George to the Bungendore wind turbines. Spotted another escaped sheep over the road.
Stopped for a break, the place is quite clean and quiet. You can see Lake George and enjoy the cool breeze. If you love to take photos of yourself a great place for photo shoot have a try.
Good spot to stop and breath, easy in and out.
A couple of shaded tables and bin
there's around 10 parking spots, so there's no need to park next to the only other car there.really
Good spot to Drone as usually empty
Good view over the lake. Can see wind turbines over the other side in the far distance obviously in clear conditions.
This is a very quiet rest area on Remembrance Highway between Sydney and Canberra. Great view across the Lake George up to the wind farms. There are two tables for picnic but unfortunately no toilets here. Exit from this location has a seperate merging lane, which makes it easier to join the incoming traffic.
Nothing much, just a plain "rest area" area with a rather beautiful view of a very huge and very dry "lake" George's lake is the name, that needs changing, there's no lake.
Great views to Lake George and the wind farms. Picnic benches present here, but no toilets here though. Its recommended to take your garbage along with you. Good place for a quick stop. Exit from this rest area has a seperate merging lane, which makes it easier to join the incoming traffic.
