Original motor had snapped crank. Hank was very helpful with getting a replacement refurbished engine. Took almost 2months before I got the car back, drove for a week then had a restricted power error, left bank manifold was leaking, took it back, 3 weeks later got it back. Drove it for 3 months than left bank cam shaft tensioner failed went back again 2 months later got it back. Drove it for another 5mths and it broke down again, this time had it towed home as I didn't want them to touch it as every time it went to his workshop it came back with other thing broken and he wouldn't repair them. The problem with the engine this time, spun bearing, they were servicing it the whole warranty period and it failed spent a whole lot of money and now I've got a broken engine again, very helpful, thanks Hank. Good luck if you take it to automotive services to get your engine repaired. Sorry wouldn't recommend them

I was in for my regular service and a few errors on the car were showing (classic RRS). As I was to head away on holidays after the service, Hank and the team took extra care to work through the car and did a fantastic job diagnosing the problems and explaining everything. At the same time they sorted out some extra things for me with other suppliers so the car was set for my trip. The quality of the service, repairs, parts are all great and the communication is better than I have experienced elsewhere. If you have an RR, don't hesitate calling Hank and his team, you'll be well looked after and you'll drive away confident your RR is sorted (well that has been my experience to date.)

After spending $1000s of dollars trying to repair our Land Rover with the dealership after purchasing it second hand from someone who was less than honest about its condition, we were really happy with the engine replacement Hank did for us. There were still a few issues post replacement but that’s Land Rovers unfortunately and Hank and the team addressed the issues without any extra charges! We saved $1000s versus using Land Rover and were really happy the service.

Not having being a customer of Automotive Skills, I dropped in unannounced to explain an issue with the DPF on my car with the intention of booking a time for them to look at it. Without hesitation Hank insisted he look at it right away, hooked up the diagnostic tool and gave me the fault. We booked it in for repair. Later, after a bit more thought I twigged to the fact the issue was related to damage sustained by the exhaust system from a rear end accident I had a couple of months before. Called Hank back to let him know that the panel beater was going to deal with it under warranty. Hank refused any form of compensation for the time he spent helping me and did not begrudge the loss of a $5k job. I can not speak highly enough of his customer focused service and the integrity he demonstrated in his dealings with me.

If you need an engine rebuild for a Range Rover Hank is the guy to contact before committing elsewhere. These guys are Range Rover specialist and they know what they are doing. True professionals and Excellent communication with their clients. I have no hesitation to recommend Skilled Auto to anyone who is after a good reliable service.

Hank was very helpful. We had a very unfortunate experience with our Ranger Rover Sport. Hank was able to supply and fit a new reconditioned engine. His knowledge of the brand and ability to set our minds at rest were just what we needed. I cannot recommend his service highly enough.

All I can say is Amazing.
I have know dealt with Hank from Automotive Skills on three occasions, and he and the team have far surpassed my expectations. Highly recommend them for all Land Rover over and Jaguar needs. Hank is a true Gentleman, and treats his customers with the same approach. Very humbling experience on every occasion.

My LR4 had a runaway engine and died when too much oil was put into the sump by a mechanic who did not check how much was needed. Following some research I discovered Automotive Skills less than 2Km away and Hank actually has a service for just this type of failure. Hank and one of his mechanics Greg rebuilt my engine. It was a worrying, very worrying experience but with 160K on the clock, it now runs like new. So happy. Hank is a very reasonable guy to deal with and he stays in regular contact. The team there are busy so you may have to book but it is worth it. That is where my LR4 gets serviced from now on.

I traded in my Discovery 3 and bought another here a month ago, which I've had almost no issues with. I feel confident that Hank is an honest and helpful mechanic who gives advice whenever I have questions about the car and will fix any issues that appear. It's a fantastic car that he did a beautiful job fixing up, and it has already taken me a lot of places. So I highly recommend this mechanic, the staff are lovely, helpful, and super knowledgeable.

The engine in my 2014 Range Rover Sport failed and went into hydrolic lock.

I look at a number of different repair options and Hanks engine recondition package was by far the best value for money and had the longest warranty period.

Furthermore, as the car was being diagnosed, Hank was able to forensically trace the root cause of the issue to water damage - which he then liaised with my insurance provider, leading to the full cost of the repair covered under insurance. This was a great outcome for me and family and was due to Hank's deep knowledge of Range Rover engines.

Overall, Hank provides a high quality service for a value for money price. He was friendly and easy to deal with. The car has not had any issues since the repair. I would highly recommend Automotive Skills to anyone who has issue with Range Rovers or Land Rovers.

Thank you to Hank and his team for all the care and hard work they put into getting my Discovery back on the road and home to me in Alice Springs. Their attention to detail and honesty is like none I have encountered from a mechanic. I would highly recommend them and will be making the huge trip back in the future if I need anything more done to my car.

Hank and the team at Automotive Skills have been an absolute pleasure to deal with. After a disappointing experience at the local Land Rover dealership, I decided to take my Range Rover to Hank instead and the experience has been a breath of fresh air. Highly recommended!

Awesome guys they go above and beyond. I broke down out the front and they figured out the issue (the starter motor) and replaced it in the same day to help me get going.

If you need the best possible people to help you with your Range Rover then Hank and his team are the people to turn to. I live in Regional NSW and the 3.6l Diesel in my Range Rover Sport suffered a massive failure. Try getting that fixed out here. I found Hanks details and made contact, and my troubles were over.
Hank collected the car, fixed the engine and quite frankly I think it is better now than when I purchased it. Then he arranged to transport it back out to my house! Which during this Covid time we live in was a blessing, and all at very reasonable costs. Hank was super with communication, and the deal to rebuild the motor was pretty darn fantastic. I can’t recommend these guys too highly. Thanks Hank, you saved my bacon and some. Well done.
