Passionate & friendly Bruce gave us an excellent tour of his very impressive collection, including an unique first edition of The Age!

This little museum is well worth a visit when you're in town. There's a copy of the first edition of The Age (one of the only two copies that have survived and been discovered so far). The vintage classroom setup is pretty impressive as well.

Respect the amount of effort and money spent to build the man's dream, single-handedly.
Lots of stories and history of pens.
Good gesture to show some support with donation or pens for the man.

A hidden gem discovered by chance. The museum is small (in a hall space with few aisles), but displays 60 years of hardwork put in by Bruce in collecting the pieces. There are some beautiful pieces of rich history of pen.
There is a little room at the back which has the classroom set-up of earlier years including the bags and ink pots used by students then.
It is a must visit if you are going through Gundagai. It will be interesting for the young ones as well to see the way a simple (not so) pen has transformed over the years.
No tickets, but voluntary donation is appreciated as the place is not funded by any organisation.

Interesting and informative visit to the Pen Museum. The owner talked us through the history of his own pens and artworks. Thank you!

An unforgettable experience! This painstakingly assembled collection of writing implements is unlike anything I have ever seen. Informative and highly entertaining. Open 8am to 9pm!

Shout out to Bruce, curator of the Pen museum. He was friendly and helpful, even offering to help us out as a family of five whose car had broken down. Great spot to visit. Kids loved the old school room set up. Definitely worth checking out whilst in Gundagai.

Had a wonderful conversation with the curator and owner, Bruce, who personally gave me a guided tour of the museum.

If you’re ever stopping by I absolutely recommend dropping in and giving the museum a visit.

Pretty nice display of pens however wouldn't recommend going if you have children. Bloke was not friendly to children or younger people at all. Bought some ink and calligraphy set @$15.

The elderly gentleman curator of the museum spent a lot of time showing us around the showcases and pointing out items of interest. It was a very interesting and worthwhile visit. The photo is of the World's smallest ballpoint pen.

Had a very interesting and engaging time with Bruce, owner and collector, briefing us about the pen related pieces showcased. Some pieces included material like ebony which is over 4000 years old. Also showed us the classroom housing student furniture from the 1800s. His passion of over 50 years started when he was gifted with his first pen at 19. Through the years, his collection expanded from outside contributions too. To share his love, he bought the Museum freehold back in 2016, took time to personally clean up and renovated the museum for public benefit. The museum is personally funded and is sad to know that there is no one to inherit. He has amassed an extensive knowledge over the years because of his passion. We left making some personal contributions and bought a calligraphy set as a souvenir of our time there.

Was in Gundagai for a brief rest stop and ended up having an unexpected yet wonderful time at the Museum (all because of the lovely owner!) He didn’t hesitate to share his knowledge and passion with us. We learnt a lot of history and was amazing by what he has collected and created. Absolutely worth the visit!
