After placing a large order (15 roller shutters) one turned out to be defect. I've tried to contact several AOL several times to get this fixed, and after being given the run-around they are now completely ignoring me and I'm being forced to start legal proceedings to get this sorted.
Truly appalling level of customer service.

The product is good - AOL security shutters are not cheap.

What’s bad? Value is average and they don’t reduce outdoor noise by much at all.

What’s good? Fitted correctly the shutters are good quality, secure, chop out all outside light when closed (great for sleeping), add privacy and they help insulation.

My installation experience wasn’t the best, however - any issues I had were addressed. AOL in my case owned any problems and corrected them.

I can’t speak for others whom have had issues with AOL, my only real issue was a lack of communication over long periods of time. To be fair, they responded professionally and my dealings with AOL ended on a good note.

I don’t know about the longevity of the product. Things to consider are hail damage, potentially failing motors, doors coming off the tracks, but I’d think you’d be pretty unlucky encountering those issues long term.

The product is clearly a good one. Be sure to ask lots of questions and be sure about what you want, and they will deliver.

Great work installing an outdoor blind in a very tricky location. Service was very good from the initial consultation all the way through to post-installation support, answering all of our questions in a timely, helpful manner. The blind itself is fantastic, and has greatly improved the space it covers.

I got roller shutters put on my windows a few years back. I wouldn't recommend doing business with AOL. We had marcus come to our house and offer us roller shutters. He wrote up a quote costing us $2000 per shutter and then said that they have interest free finance (with 99$ fee per year). Marcus said we have until the end of the day to sign up to this finance offer or the offer was no longer available. There is no transparency in his sales/finance offer. It was very manipulative. We just went ahead for security reasons to make ourselves feel safer In total it cost us 13000$ for 7 shutters. Plus the electrician fee of over $1000 for all electric. We have since got back in touch with them after needing replacements due to hail damage. I made countless calls and even had the tradies come out to remeasure shutters for replacement quote. Finally after second hail storm years later they got the act together to give me a quote. It was a problem to have them replace just the curtain of the shutter and i would need the full replacement despite it not being needed.they are just very money hungry. If you want roller shutters I recommend going to diy warehouse store or a small window tradie/handy man and getting them to fit at a fraction of the price. Also when they were initially fitted to our windows they were done wrong rubbing on the window and we needed replacements early on.not best experience

We had some blinds installed around two years ago from this company and they are still as good as when we first purchased them!

Highly recommend!

1. Did not measure correctly (blinds too short)
2. Did not install correctly (12 extra holes in our powder coated pergola)
3. Did not fix damages up to acceptable standard (half filled them and hit with a quick spray of paint but still looks rubbish. Photos shared)
4. Blamed us (their client) for their mistakes
5. Expected us to be satisfied with their ‘lack of quality of work’ and made it out like they went above and beyond by replacing the blinds that were too short.

Don’t even bother with this guys.

Australian Outdoor Living supplied outdoor blinds for our alfresco. The quality of the product is fantastic, and we couldn’t be happier with the weather protection and privacy that we’ve gained from the installation of our blinds.

However, their after sale service leaves much to be desired. We had an issue with our blinds immediately after installation. Although we had noticed the issue after our first use of the blinds, it took several phone calls, two visits from Australian Outdoor Living and multiple emails to get them to come out. Our calls to the reception team never seemed to make it past just that, which required serial calling over a two week period to speak to what seemed to be a manager of sorts. These events did put a dampener on our experience, as the blind would dislodge from its guide-rails deeming it unsafe to use even in the slightest breeze.

AOL did a marvelous job as you can see from the before and after photos. From quote to finish the AOL Team kept us informed and were very professional. Installers were friendly and curteous.

Outdoor blind stops the afternoon sun and heat from getting under the pergola. It was a furnace in summer, can use the space now. Added bonus, also stops it from getting through glass sliding door, so inside the house is much cooler too. Colour is perfect and it looks great. Great addition to my outdoor space, wish I'd done it years ago.

From quote to installation within a month we were really impressed with the whole service and overall package price for Australian-made products, and the outdoor blinds look amazing in our pergola area. Marius was super helpful, honest and friendly - quality and service worth leaving a review!

We installed outdoor shade blinds in February this year. Great product. Our room is much cooler now that the Sun is not hitting the glass in the morning. Great team to deal with and professional at all times.

We had artificial grass installed by Australian Outdoor living in an area of our garden that was pretty ugly. The guys were prompt and efficient with the installation and left the site clean and tidy. That part of our garden now looks much better.

Great experience from getting the quote through to installation. Office staff were also good and things were kept on time. Thank you.

I recently had a problem with my outdoor shutters where one would not work. I notified Australian Outdoor Living and they promptly came out to assess the problem and diagnosed that the motor was not working.

They then came back within a week with a new motor and installed the motor. They indicated that the wires inside the shutter cover had cut the motor electricals off and so they not only replaced the motor and repaired the damage but they refunded the call out fee.

I have also have had AOL install artificial grass and have been given a discount on the installation and the job was excellent. The lawn still looks good after 4 years

Big shout out to Paul and Blake of the Canberra team who installed our artificial grass. Very patient and careful. The weather couldn’t be worse and they worked hard in the freezing rain to get the prep work done properly. It turned out nicely and our dogs love it! Also the outdoor blinds work very well blocking the sun and moderate wind. Thanks guys!

We were happy with the quote and the installation of the artificial grass. It was only a small area but it certainly looks good, especially in winter when it would otherwise look poorly. The installers came on time and did a great job.

The salesperson apparently sold me the wrong product so I had to redo the quote, which was more expensive. As my payment plan was for the original amount they wanted me to pay the difference rather than redo the payment plan of which I refused. Then the outdoor shutters frame overhangs so my wind/out windows can’t be opened more than a centimetre or two. I was advised by the workmen on site so I requested work to stop immediately (I was at work) but it was ignored and now I can open windows to air the house and now it gets stuffy inside. I was not advised at any time my windows would be obstructed and if I was I would have refused to go ahead.

Go to half price shutters. Cheaper, quicker and won’t sell you something that’s inappropriate

Salesperson was very aggressive and tried to push us to sign up to get on the back of a commercial order. Very expensive, would not recommend
