Australian Museum reviews
56Went to the Ramses Exhibition. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Was glad they didn't put a timing on how long you were able to view the exhibition. Two floors of items to view and take photos of.
Visited the museum to see the Ramses exhibition. As it was quite popular there was a small but understandable wait. The exhibition itself was amazing. If you get the chance, visit before it's gone
Poor signs to floors and exhibits. Disappointed with the lack of pieces from our nations settlement. Mundane!
The collection is rich and provides an in-depth understanding of Australia’s animal ecology from ancient times to the present. The super-large dinosaur area is very shocking and is very suitable for visiting with children~
Most of the exhibitions are free to visit. The most impressive one is the bird exhibition area, which is diverse and lifelike.
Missed out on the dinosaur hologram show cos we walked in instead of booking ahead. Was a last minute thing. However there was plenty to see and do. Kids loved the play/learn area
Even if you are not interested in the museum, I recommend stopping by at least to take a commemorative photo or use the restroom haha.
The refurb is awesome! Gems are back in an amazing space, the current temp exhibit of hologram dinos is great. Shame the members lounge was close. Def worth going on a week day to avoid the crowds!
A good place to visit for a day if you want to learn some history of Australia and have a look at dinosaur skeletons. Not really a must go spot but good for kids.
The Australian Museum, located in Sydney, is the oldest museum in Australia. It was established in 1827 and is situated in the heart of Sydney's central business district. It's a must-visit destination for those interested in exploring and understanding the richness of Australia's past and present.
A great museum that is family-friendly with displays of dinosaurs and their fossils. A great way to explore and educate during the holidays. You can come here by train, alighting at Museum Station. Definitely recommend.
Is good place to bring in your children that are fascinated about archeological findings need to add more cafe and more seatings and easy access for prams and wheelchairs overall I’ll give 4
Great place for a casual visit or to catch the many special exhibitions and it's free for most of the museum. Be sure to book extra early for the special exhibitions as they fill up very quickly.
One of the best Museum you can visit in not only in Australia but in the World. Huge collection of birds, animals look like real. You will be wondering by the number of different animals/Birds living in Australia. Highly recommend. Must go place.
Only had the chance to see the interactive playground and part of the Dinosaurs exhibition and both were wonderful. Perfect for young kids, the little one had a blast
Beautiful museum with great exhibits. We saw the unsettled exhibition and found it to be highly informative and positively confronting. Every school group and person who wants to learn about our shared history should make the time to visit.
Unbelievable upgrade to the Australian museum, with interactive and fun kids activities and plays.
Very organised themed sections of the museum
Only major problem with the Australian museum is their cafe it's rubbish and you will need to take out a mortgage to eat there, I'd recommend! BYO!
Museum is fine. What really lets it down is the 'cafe' - so overpriced and such weird and limited options on the menu, nothing suitable for children, everything pre-packaged. Seems like a very lazy catering tender went out. This museum needs to look at other institutions around and the much better way they provide food options ie the art gallery.
Hopeless toilets, not enough of them & dirty due to overuse. There are also no staff around if you need to ask something, unusual for museums.
Went to see the settled exhibition was pretty good and heart wrenching stuff displayed beautifully but it was a bit disorganized not really done in any particular order still enjoyed it museum is beautiful down stairs in the toilets the sandstone walls are amazing
