Australia the Gift reviews
20Great selection of Australian gifts for souvenirs! We've returned twice over the last 8 years and always being something home from this quaint location
The service from the store clerk was really poor, especially the one who spoke Vietnamese. It seemed like the person who came to buy something was taken advantage of! Very poor service attitude! Things are not cheap either! In short, if I hadn't rushed to the airport to buy something for my friend, I would never come back again.
There are lots of gifts available. I was looking made in Australia, but only few items available
Best Souvenir shop in Sydney, I must say it is indeed an exceptional place to find the perfect Australian souvenirs. With its extensive collection and amazing variety, this store truly stands out.
One of the highlights of this shop is its impressive assortment of plush toys and fridge magnets. The quality of these items are outstanding, and you won't find them anywhere else. Whether you're looking for a cute koala plush or a unique magnet featuring iconic Australian landmarks, this store has it all.
Despite being a large store, the staff members are extremely knowledgeable about their products, they know the store inside out. Overall, I highly recommend visiting the Best Souvenir shop in Sydney, whether you're a tourist or looking to gift an authentic Australian souvenir. The vast collection, amazing variety, and quality of the plush toys and fridge magnets are truly impressive. Combine that with the exceptional customer service provided by the knowledgeable staff, you have a must-visit store for all your souvenir needs.
Spent some time with wife and daughter looking for souvenirs to purchase after dinner. Felt constantly observed as employees took turns standing near us by inexpensive jewelry area. An employee rudely asked us to leave the jewelry in our shopping basket on the counter where she was folding shirts, although we had intended to view and purchase other items as well. We were offended at the insinuation that we would shoplift, and left all items for her on the counter. I would AVOID THIS SHOP to purchase souvenirs in Sydney. The employees circle like sharks in water, their attitude insults tourists on holiday. The fact that the shop primarily caters to one-time tourist shoppers is likely the only reason they are still in open, for now. Given this experience and another review mirroring the same, it’s likely this store won’t be around for long.
A friend and I entered recently and we had the feeling we were being followed by a staff member. She didnt greet us (she greeted older people who entered) and gave us the feeling that she thought we were shoplifting? Made us so uncomfortable.
Bad service, the cashier who served me was totally rude and unsympathetic to tourists, I am not complaining about the products but this person damaged the good experience in the store and the administration did nothing to solve it. Completely unpleasant experience.

Unpleasant experience, the guy at the very rude payment box. He packed our things in a bad way and threw them away.

I was really looking forward to receiving the four T-Shirts that I had ordered on their online store which allowed payment so one has to assume the products were on stock. The next week I was advised that three of the four items were out-of-stock and agreed to a refund for the three. Next I was advised the remaining order could not be shipped as it had a print defect. So in the end I got my refund (thankful) but I would have preferred receiving my order. Maybe I will give them a chance again in the future, however I will try other Australian gift shops to see.
I purchased the majority of my Christmas gifts online at this store. I spent $304.86 and it looks like I spent $20 at a Reject Shop.
The aboriginal art Warlukurlangu spoons are poorly made and for $34.95 for 4 spoons I expected ceramic handles not plastic.
I was sent a broken pair of earrings, got given stickers instead of temporary tattoos.
The beach towels are scratchy made in China and covered in lint. Some of the jewellery items seem to have been floor stock for people to try on because the packet is already opened - only 1 packet actually looks new.
The goats milk hand cream packets are dented. The joke toilet roll packaging is so smashed up I don’t think I can even give it as a gift.
Worst of all the 6 pack of macadamia chocolates I bought on special - 4 of the 6 had been swapped out for plain chocolate which you will know is substantially cheaper! Dodgy dodgy dodgy.
If you want to buy Australian made to support local businesses I wouldn’t suggest this place one little bit. Learn from my lesson and not the hard way. Only positive is postage was fast.
It was a good little shop with plenty of souvenirs. It was relatively good prices. Sure you can find cheaper, but this place is convenient for tourists.
Very nice. I saw pictures online. It was 25 mins walk from the place inwas staying. But i walked and it was worth. Very nice. Alot of things. Good options. And good quality. Value for money.
Helpful staff and a large selection of souvenirs and goods. The best souvenir shop in Circular Quay area.
Plenty of Aussie made things here. T shirts, jewelry, and whatever else you need for a souvenir or gift.
Very disappointed that there is fake aboriginal art in this store.it says made in China and no aboriginal person has been credited for the design.you do understand that there has been an enquiry into fake aboriginal art.if you wish clarification I have photos of some of the fake stuff
Saw a staff member using a nail clipper around the store and then putting it back on the shelf!
I always wanted to buy a special gift for my sister and this online store has given me that chance. I bought a beautiful teddy for her and she liked it very much.
Encountered an extremely rude staff named Omkar after I volunteered to pay for a merchandise that my young daughter knocked off the shelf by accident. Will not recommend shopping there.
Took a few hours and visits to several other souvenir shops in the region until I found one that actually had authentic, Australian-made items as opposed to basic Chinese or Indonesian-made goods.
The Quay's most eclectic gift shop - from clothing, hats, and jewelry to aboriginal art decor, honey skin creams, and Australian aromatics. Don't forget to pick up your kangaroo testicle bottle opener!
