TV didn't work couldn't open windows. But that's it, otherwise very nice lovely staff

Always loved this pub great food and usually good service although took my 6 year old out for dinner tonight misheard the girl at the bar whilst trying to get my daughter a drink and was met with a very erratic over the top rudeness maybe shouldn’t have told her to calm the f down but really did not appreciate being spoken to like a degenerate especially when I was polite to begin with!

The food was great! The staff there had excellent service especially the blonde girl making my food.love it!

This is a great pub with very clean rooms and comfortable beds.
We also had dinner in the bistro which was good. Top Tip: don't book rooms 2,4,6,8 as there is no outside window and it was noisy due to 5am cleaners vacuuming in the bar below.

The staff, are friendly, the food is beauiful, generous portons, terrific lunch specials with unbeatable pricing, overall one of the best pub dining experiences ever, I highly recomend,

Fabulous. So good the first night we went, we went back the next. Food delicious and generous servings. Staff cheery and very helpful. Highly recommend a must stop.

Great place to eat, always get great food and an even better service. They look after us and we drive back at least once a week for dinner just because the service is so great. We are about 40 minutes away.

Far from enjoyable experience. Felt very unwanted. Now cooking sausages at home for dinner instead: (

Country pub with pool table, TAB and bistro. Food is average (lower end of pub food) and staff do their job but not very chatty or overly friendly. It felt like a burden when we were being served. Was it because we're not locals, or is that their normal selves. I feel like when you thrive on people holidaying in your area (come on Cessnock, we're all Australia bound for our 2020/2021holidays), you need to be friendly and encourage people to talk about your town in a positive way).

The mash potatoes was dry and crumbly (not creamy at all), the veg, some parts where cold, and very watery and plain (no flavour and death by boil/steam). The actual chicken schnitzel and gravy where delicious. Chips are good too!

My husband had the barramundi and enjoyed it and the veg. My brother had a t-bone, chips and veg/salad. He wasn't impressed at all. My sister in-law had prawns on her schnitzel with mash and veg, she was also not impressed with the mash and veg, or the prawns.

The room was clean, there was a nice comfy sofa to sit and relax on (most motels don't have anywhere comfortable to do this) and the staff were lovely.

Bar staff need to pick up their game. Need the publican on the job to properly manage the place. Other than that nice food.

Good clean pub. Food was great, the beef cheeks were very succulent but beware the chilli prawn linguine it has a bit of a kick.although there is a car park attached it is limited but dont let that spoil your visit.

Really enjoyed this pub. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The pub is very clean throughout. Great selection of beers good sized outdoor area as well as a section for smokers. It also has a restaurant section with a good menu and daily specials. I gave the Aussie works burger a go (without pineapple, of course) and give it 74/100.

Good choice of meals and reasonably priced. Friendly atmosphere but can get a little noisy dependant on patron numbers.

Great atmosphere. We ate there often before Covid but now get takeaway and their food is still on point. Huge servings and great value.

Called in for dinner tonight well a absolutely fantastic meal char grilled steak cooked to perfection. Service was so friendly and welcoming in bar and bistro.will be back for sure! Sonya &family!

Have always enjoyed coming here for a meal. Friendly service, good prices and always delicious meals with generous servings. Bar staff could probably get some lessons in customer service from the kitchen though.

Some may think its boring to only ever eat at one place. But its the only place i will spend my money. Service has never been bad food is always fresh and very nice plus ive tried all on the menu just about. The thing im not excited about is the size of gravy protions. I usually buy 2 and still not enough most of the time. But love the awesome little aussie pub its gold
