Austral Property Maintenance

Unprofessional, incompetent and in breach of Australian consumer law. We ended up with a non-functional bathroom after a forced renovation to repair waterproofing in our apartment. Austral Property Maintenance (AMS) failed to provide detailed plans and did not leave enough space to fit the washing machine. After reporting to NSW Fair trading where AMS agreed to rectify the issue, they have refused to respond to any correspondence. Avoid at all costs!

Do not engage. APM does not live up to its “guarantee”. We engaged Dennis to complete our bathroom whilst we were overseas for 5 weeks in August last year. We got back and the waterproofing had barely been done it took another month or two to get it to a usable condition. We had to use our neighbours bathroom or continue to take trips interstate to give them time to finish the job. This was August last year - it’s still not complete! Damage was caused to our tap handle and it has not been replaced, walls in our living room were damaged and have not been repainted despite being promised they would be, our garden was ruined and was promised it would be fixed and it wasn’t, the ceiling and grouting are starting to crack and it’s been barely 6 months! Additionally, random alcohol was found in our living room and no one seems to know where it came from. They do not turn up when they are meant to. We are withholding last payment until the job is finished because I have zero confidence they will turn up and finish the job and fix the defects and damage caused. Dennis also refuses to respond to me and will only talk to my husband - take from that what you will. He also said to my husband today that if the jobs not finished it’s not covered by warranty - so is not finishing the job intentional? !? ! Highly disappointing, unprofessional and cannot recommend in these circumstances.

The Austral team turned up on time and even cleaned up after afterwards! Extremily happy with the quote and quality of their work. I'd recommend and use them again.

Dennis did a great job on small but complex job fixing up a degraded bathroom and shower recess. He provided a professional quote with images of the PC items he supplied and organised all the trades to complete the work. We were very happy with the process and finished job.
