I saw Dr Kessell today regarding a relatively rare skin condition. I felt he was very much open and interested in finding a solution for me. We discussed the latest treatment options and I felt “heard”. Dr Kessell was also very helpful in suggesting where to get my compounding prescription filled. Lovely, kind man.

I have attended many dermatology clinics spanning 30 years for skin checks and the removal of skin cancers, and I found The Austin Clinic to have highly professional staff with good interpersonal skills and patient care.

Everyone was friendly and helpful. Appointment was on time. The Dr was diligent and knowledgeable.

I chose to change clinics for my annual skin health check - and so happy that I did as it pays to shop around. I found Dr Kylie Heyworth to be professional and kind. She explained everything that she was doing and I felt heard, comfortable and safe - even while sitting there in my underwear! Dr Kylie offered other treatment options available at the clinic - for veins, redness, etc - yet respected and accepted that I was not interested in cosmetic procedures. If it was the type of clinic to do the hard sell, I would not return.
This kind of procedure - and being almost naked in front of a complete stranger- may be very confronting for some people, particularly those with trauma background. But it is ESSENTIAL to schedule regularly.
This was a positive, efficient (& effective as I’m minus some skin tags that were irritated from my bra underwire) experience for me, that I highly recommend.

I returned to Dr Austin after a few years of Skin Neglect and Covid. I needed skin care and needed professional advise. I had a consultation. So good to walk in and know Im in good hands. With a plan to remove my moles skin fungus and improve a few face lines.

I have been seeing Dr Austin for 5 years. She detected several basal cell carcinomas and also 2 melanomas on my back. She always clearly explains the treatment options and I have no scars from 5 BCCs removed from
my face. Excellent thorough service every time and always a pleasure to visit. Highly recommend.

THE WORST MEDICAL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE
Dr Austin burnt my face off on December 14th 2020 doing photodynamic therapy for Actinic keratosis. That I went to see her for on my lip. She took a photo of my face and said my entire face had sun damage and she would "fix it". On the day of my treatment she applied ALA cream and while doing so told me "Tracey will be completing the light therapy treatment". I had waited months to see Dr Austin to have this procedure done by a professional certified doctor. Maybe everything would have been ok if it had not all gone so horribly wrong. After my face was burnt off, I looked up Tracey on their website, she was a "receptionist/clinical assistant"! She had no idea what she was doing and my face is permantly ruined and even though I had booked in and paid to see Dr Austin, I was handed over to the "receptionist. Now over one year later my face is still scarred, red and irreparably damaged. I suffered months of pain and trauma including not being able to be outside. I had to go to the hospital emergency room where I was told my face was still burning, I had to stay inside to make sure I was kept cool, apply ice cold compresses to my face every hour and to not put any creams or lotions on as it would trap the heat in and continue the burning. I was in a revolving door of Doctors. Specialists. Steroids. Antibiotics and heavy skin medications like Roacutane, none of which I had EVER used or needed.
PRIOR to seeing Dr Austin for some minor Actinic keratosis, my skin and face were beautiful. Now I am in a living a nightmare. It is an absolute joke that this clinic purports to “help” people with their skin but has in fact ruined mine. Dr Austin’s insurance company (Avant) offered me five hundred dollars to say nothing bad about this clinic. Seeing Dr Austin changed my life for the absolute worst. I regret the day I ever walked into her clinic and met her.
