Atom Thai Restaurant

45-minute wait for 3 dishes with no one else inside the restaurant. All served at different times. We finished the first dish, and the second arrived around 4 minutes after that, and the last was received another after that.

Lacklustre atmosphere with no one inside the restaurant. They could've been some music played to fill the void.

Priority was given to Uber orders rather than people inside the restaurant.

For ~$30 per dish, I would expect either good food or large serving sizes. This was below average than most thai restaurants, and serving sizes are also a lot smaller.

We have just had the our Christmas party at Atom Thai and the service and food were absolutely fantastic! We cannot fault Atom. Whenever we go for just a weeknight dinner or a team event they consistently deliver!

Overall nice Thai food. The quality of rice/cooking of rice could be improved as the day we tried it was too wet and soggy.

Love Atom Thai so much because the food is extremely delicious and they are so great at accommodating dietary requirements. The vegan gluten free options are fantastic!

Had booked ahead via website to ensure our booking for NYE however, on arrival, our booking was not on their list. Fortunately the staff quickly reconfigured tables to accommodate our group. My star rating reflects this error as it could have resulted in a disastrous night as it was NYE and most had travelled large distances to be there. Given I received an email asking for feedback post dinner it confirmed for the second time the resturant had received my booking.

The issue of the booking aside we had a wonderful time. Staff were friendly, attentive, very professional and helpful. The atmosphere is relaxed, restaurant clean, vibrant and welcoming. Service from staff was excellent throughout the evening and the food delightful and delicious. Particular needs such as extra spicy food were readily accommodated.

The two things that stand out about this restaurant are the thoughtful and professional staff and the delicious, spicy food. Definitely a place I would happily visit again.

As we haven't been here for a while we love the atmosphere the tables aren't too close to each other's which gives people some privacy. The foods are tasty and the service is very good.

Amazing gluten free Thai, so many options and so delicious. The service is great and food even better, we love Atom Thai! Consistent quality, flavourful and with 2 coeliacs in the family we really appreciate the GF menu.

Came here with a group of friends on a busy Saturday evening for dinner, I am so impressed by the level of their service given how busy it was and the top quality of food. The ambience of the restaurant is really great for groups or just a quiet dinner of two. Will definitively come back!

The best Thai food in Sydney! Excellent service and the food is SUPER SUPER TASTY! Everything here is just delicious! I highly recommend the Green Curry and Cashew Crispy Pork, YUM. Ive been to many places Thai over Australia but this place is just GOLD. Beautiful atmosphere, friendly people and the staff are absolutely amazing?

We had a gathering there last night for my husband's 60th birthday. It's his favourite Thai restaurant and we always enjoy it but last night was extra special. They looked after us so well, made the table look beautiful, helped us with the cake we brought, perfect service, and the food was amazing as usual. It remains our favourite.

Have been going to Atom Thai for years. It's one of the only things I miss about Sydney, since moving a month ago. I will miss the Miang Goong! I will miss sharing various mains with friends. Plus the hospitality of the staff. There are Thai restaurants galore in Newtown, but you have to try Atom.

Got the Beef Pad See Ew which was alright in flavour, but not worth in value. At around $22, this was a pretty standard pad see ew that doesn't have much that other places can offer at a cheaper price of $15.

We were a large group of around 25 and they sat us at the back. Despite our size, food came out pretty fast, as well was the service for ordering. Staff were very friendly and accommodating

Nicely located at the heart of Newtown and has nice interior decoration with ambient warm lighting. Despite the back room being a bit small, it felt very homey with the light.

Overall, despite the good vibe, it is a bit pricey, so will only be going back on occasions

Really nice Thai food, very reasonable prices, staff are very friendly and welcoming, the dining room has a nice atmosphere. It was surprisingly quiet as well, should have more attention than it does. Nothing bad to say about it

Came on a Monday night - fried prawn papaya salad was sweet, spicy, tart and crumbing was great. Started off strong but was disappointed by the rest of the dishes as they arrived lukewarm. The veges were barely cooked and the dishes were already cold - fried rice and pad kee Mao. Customer service was lovely though.

Absolutely brilliant. Food was some of the best Thai we have eaten. Great staff. A separate gluten free menu. Awesome place. You can also BYO wine.

My favourite Thai restaurant in Sydney. Great service and cosiest atmosphere on King St. Love the plants and vintage furniture. Vegetarian duck red curry with lychee is outstanding, as is the slow cooked lamb penang. Plenty of veg/vegan options with a full gluten free menu. Betel leaves are almost as good as the big competitor down the road. Should be more popular but I'll happily keep it to myself!
