I would have given zero star for this branch because of not professional staffs. They are like rookies

Top of the league in playing bureaucracy. Can I walk in and open an account like I did with all other banks? ‘No dear potential customer, you need to book a 1 hr appointment in advance for that’. While there is no one else waiting to be served. Just glad I never got myself any ANZ stocks.

Today I went to the place do some inquiry, the lady who served me was a small asian lady, while I am talking to her probably just 5 min, and while she service me she is working on her computer for other client details at all time and not listening my question so that she need to ask me back the question I was just ask, just feels like she is really not professional, and she change her attitude.

Riley (Raheleh Mazaheri) is a fabulous lender and was very supportive throughout the entire process.

With this being my first home loan, Riley made everything very easy to understand and was extremely helpful.

I highly recommend Riley.

Worst anz branch ever. Found out pre-booking and non-booking cash withdrawal is the same. Requested a pre-booking today, wed. Won't give u cash until next mon, no matter how much u asked for (only 10k daily max). If u want flexibility and need yr cash for emergency some times, I recommended u to place yr fund in other bank. Try yr luck with other banks. Anz is the so call biggest bank in australia, has cash flow issue, lol. They care less yr request and concern. Good luck with anz customers!

If there was zero star, I would rate it. Basically the staff here is full of useless ppl and untrained rookies. They spend hrs to scratch their head to figure out what problem is, and eventually still fail to solve it. None can help even for basic problem. You guys are lucky, I didn’t even bother to launch a complaint. Because Launching complaint is gonna waste more time of mine….

Don't waste your time visiting this branch, the staff don't know what products they have at all.
I went in to enquire about travelling cards or overseas payment in NZ, they just said no we don't do anything like that without any transaction fee or travelling card. They kept saying if I need more info just call 131314, and just handed me a brochure as I insisted on at least having some info. I found the phone banking isn't user friendly at all.
In the end they do have a travelling credit card and all services I was interested in, which barely mentioned in the brochures they provided. And I found out that info through internet - and I have trouble reading.
The reason I would find time and go into a branch on a weekday is to have someone to introduce a service I need and answer my questions efficiently. They could not do any of that.
Advertising yourself being one of the largest banks in Aus means you should provide better service than this.
Don't be useless would be extremely helpful.

If I could, I'd give them 0 stars. I went in this branch to get a form to change my direct debit account. The staff member I spoke to, had no idea what I wanted and was not about to make any effort to find out. No other staff member (including manager) offered to help, even though, as far as I could tell, there was no other customer in the shop at that time (it's obvious why).
ANZ if you want to keep the shops open, train your staff. If not, make everything available online

Hopeless. Online app told me I have to visit a branch to do what I want. Last week, I visited the branch in the morning, they told me they can't help me till after 1pm. Came in after 1pm, they then told me no one can help me so please call anz over the phone instead. Called anz and waited 40 minutes. The person on the phone told me that going to a branch is the easiest, otherwise on the phone will cost me extra for the phone service.
I asked what's the reason the branch wants me to call instead, they said maybe the person is not working that time or they are too busy, it's easier for the branch and customer.
So, let's get this straight. What I understood is that it's easier not to bother with branches, if customers want to be serviced, we have to pay extra for over the phone service.
I understand we are all going through the same world situation right now and its not easy, but is this really what you can do for customers in need who takes the effort to come to you?

Very bad service. With limited opening hours of 9: 30-4: 30 Monday to Friday, only two counters are open. Very bad customer service as well. The guy behind the counter is very abrupt, showing absolute no interest in helping customers or explaining things. Worst bank branch I’ve been to! ANZ Eastwood is much better!

I wanted to have a joint account with my wife. But at that time my wife was not with me. So I went to the bank alone. When I told that I want to open a joint account with my wife but she is not present. When I opened the account they asked me to send wife also to a branch, later and sign something. When I went home and told this to my wife, she refused to have a joint account with me. Hence, the account was never signed by my wife, but it still functioned and shown on my bank app and they also charged me the monthly administrative fee without fail. One day I by mistake deposited some money into it, instead of transferring it to my other savings. The app allowed it. But realizing it is in wrong account I tried to transfer back to my account. But the app refused. It asked me to contact bank. I called, they said, visit a bank branch. I went to Mcquarie branch. They told I will not be able to close the account or give my money back unless my wife personally visits the bank. My question here is that, if I had made a mistake and given a wrong spelling or if I have given a name of a person who never existed, what is the bank going to do? They will keep the money. This is a joint account, with my name on it. Whatever the processes or the legality behind this my argument is, I gave you the money, I opened the account, I gave you the name of the other person and the other person never visited the bank or accepted the offer or did anything with the bank. So the other person need not do anything, I am responsible for the account. The bank is not listening. Good on you ANZ!

Prompt service, good communication they were well organised, happy to help & got the job done without any fuss

Update, after being at 2 other branches before this one and leaving the above review it seemed quite helpful however on consecutive additional visits to the Macquarie Branch this one fails too.

It’s more about their policies and procedures which are so vague and limited they leave you uninformed and confused.

Their staffs processes are so limited and misinformed that the staff come across as unhelpful which I think inevitably is going to reflect on them.

If I was a bank employee I would not work for ANZ and all of their customers would seem to agree with this as their two closest branches Top Ryde & Rhodes have 1.7 Ratings & this one is not much better & I’m sure this one will go down hill too unless they pick up their standards.

Never had any issues at my long term bank The Commonwealth Bank which is very transparent and provide’s you with the help & respect you would like from a bank.

Joanne Choi is an absolute legend. I can't say THANK YOU enough! A few months ago a client of mine introduced me to contact Joanne because I had a very difficult home loan issue. She took quick and decisive action to save time and in a very short period she made the loan possible. She is reliable, professional and trustworthy. If you are serious about obtaining your home loan, then get in touch with Joanne. Highly recommended!

If you don’t know how to manage customers in your branch when your ATM isn’t working for cash deposits you need to be trained properly. I was waiting in the line and those after me went to the teller, the guy who was holding up the line was then told to go before me when I lined up. Terrible management by the Indian woman

I managed to get my investment loan from the Macquarie Centre branch. The staff are friendly and helpful but I think that a lot of their internal processes are flawed and certainly are not customer-friendly. For instance after several months using the loan and operating the associated offset account, I received a letter requesting that I open a different account for use as the offset account because the account's named nominees were against Company's rules. Mind you this account had been operating perfectly for the past 6 months.

So I went to ANZ in Macquarie Centre and opened another offset account. After a couple of months I discovered that this new account was not properly associated with the loan account and so I wasn't getting benefit from the offsets. Getting this straightened out actually took another 2 weeks, mainly because I was told that they couldn't fix it at the branch but had to get head office to do it.

From all of this I was given the impression that this was my fault. In any case I would have thought that the simple matter of changing an offset account would be more automatic and that the required chain of events would not need to be handled with the customer's participation.

One other criticism is that you can't seem to phone the branch in question directly. You either have to email the person and hope for the best or go to the branch in person. Admittedly this is not probably an ANZ only problem but is evident in all the Big Four banks.

Horrible customer service. No one care about waiting line. I organized installation payment but they didn't do anything. I need to go other branch again!
