Anytime Fitness reviews
70 Walked in today to check out the gym.
First question the sales rep asks me is: "So where are you from? "
I answer, "From Surry Hills. "
He then says: "No, I meant where are you from originally? "
Does that sales pitch usually work? HAHAHA
Precor weight equipment is good
Treadmill and elliptical machines need an URGENT upgrade. The treadmills wobble and are not stable- waiting for accident to happen.
Good gym! It has almost everything you need I like the fact they have a few power racks for lifting my only minor gripes which prevent me from giving it five stars is they only have a seated calf raise and one seated lat pulldowns machines if they had a standing and donkey calf raise machines then I'll dub it a complete gym.
Fantastic gym! They're always kind, helpful and actually care about the people coming to their gym. One of the best Anytime Fitness gyms I've been to:) Can get a bit crowded at lunch but not so bad that you can't get a workout in. They also do a pretty good job of keeping things clean. Much preferred it to other gyms around Surry Hills that I visited who felt quite sales-oriented and crowded at lunch. This gym is good for those who just want a small but efficient gym.
A basic but decent Anytime gym; some of the equipment was a little older and sqeaky (ie.smith machine) and the cable cross machine had greasy handles (one of the cables also got stuck quite frequently during use). You can always tell an older Anytime by the colour scheme; the new ones don't use that ghastly lime green colour! I guess I'm just lucky coming from interstate where the two Anytime's I use are both less than 2 years old. But all in all, it got the job done.
Although I was only here for a couple of days while holidaying in Sydney, I was made instantly welcome by the staff, and shown around the club. Great selection of racks, weights, and machines are available, and the equipment is well maintained. Enjoyed working out here on my trip.
They've noticeably upped the quality of this gym since the change of management this year. Although it's still a little smaller than some of the bigger surrounding gyms, its staff are friendly and attentive, and it's not too difficult to navigate your way around the equipment, even at peak hour.
I really like the fact that they've introduced quirks to the gym, like Free Fruit Fridays, and put activity posters around to engage the community. For me, the only con is that I'm paying quite a hefty amount for a relatively small gym, but so far, I find the trade sufficiently worth it.
It's a medium size gym but it got everything:) also there are a few nice cafes downstairs to chill after work out.
Terrible management / customer service - if you want to be singled out and discriminated against this is the gym to go to!
I love this gym. The staff and very friendly and always keep the place clean. Not the biggest but not the smallest AF you'll find in Sydney. Equipment is maintained well, it definitely shows that the owners/staff care about the quality of the equipment and the members that use them. It does get busy during peak hours, but remains steadily calm during off-peak hours.
