Anytime Fitness reviews
38I absolutely love Anytime Fitness Leichhardt! The gym boasts top-notch equipment, it's impeccably clean, and accessibility is a breeze. The recent renovation has elevated the atmosphere, making it a welcoming and judgment-free space. Highly recommend for a positive workout experience!
Not sure why Leichhardt has so many negative reviews. My experience at Leichhardt has always been top notch. Gym isnt too small, decent selection of equipment, always clean (I most likely wouldnt go after work as it gets a tad busy with most equipment in use), however, any other time is fine. Called through yesterday and the guy I spoke to confirmed that AF no longer have the 30 day waiting period before we can access other AF gyms which is great. Customer service was amazing through and through so no complaints there.
The gym had a great selection of equipment and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The facilities were clean and well-maintained, and the ambiance was very inviting. However, one area where the gym could improve is the air conditioning system. While the gym was generally comfortable, the air conditioning was not as effective as it could have been. This made it a bit challenging to maintain a consistent workout pace during more intense exercises.
Poor communication, dishonesty and difficulty cancelling membership in exceptional circumstances. Failure to communicate details of cancellation policy or enact cancellation resulting in additional fees
Old layout much better, so much wasted space now. Can’t fit more than 4 benches across dumbbell section, cable machine too close to walls and squat racks, wasted space with bikes in the corner.nice wooden floors to band-aid
I recently signed up at LIehhardt and the process was relatively simple, no pushy sales, the person who signed me up kept it simple and was encouraging. Gym equipment are great.thanks
One of the best gyms in the Inner West. Very spacious and good range of equipment. Staff are friendlier than most Anytime clubs
Toilets need refurbishment. The TV channels dont work. Drinks in the vending machine are past their use by date and the AC is way too cold!
Convenient access with undercover parking parking in the shopping centre. There's usually enough equipment so minimum waiting. Fantastic guidance and routines from Simon Says trainers. Plus the washrooms are clean and in working order.
Great experience with both Ameru and Simon as my personal trainers helping me to kickstart my fitness goals
I have really noticed a different since starting my PT session with Simon and his team
They are really helpful with good advice on helping reach my goals.
Highly recommended anyone wanting to make a change and start there fitness journey.
I want to say Simon the PT who handles a lot of his clients here is delightful, but the employed gym staff are complete clowns. Management have the ability to increase your membership fees without notice (eg.post covid lockdown), and the circus drop-out staff will refuse discussion and can't justify the maths. Finally the gym manager lives hours (?) away so if someone takes your keys by accident prepare to wait multiple hours before anyone can review the security camera footage and contact them.
Have a read and make up your own mind. This is a gym company - not an individual gym. They are dishonest. I tried to contact them about cancelling a membership during COVID as they were closed during lockdown. I called a number of times and left several phone messages. No-one responded. I physically attended the gym today and advised that I had received a membership charge during lockdown and wanted that refunded and that I wanted to close my son's membership. The staff member tried to tell me that the reason the gym didn't respond was because everyone had been laid off. It seems the owner is not capable of returning my calls. Especially where cancelling memberships are concerned. The staff member then tried to tell me there was a 30 day written cancellation requirement which he would 'waiver' and use the charge applied during COVID as that 30 day notice 'payment'.
It gets better.
When originally signing on, we were given a 'fob' electronic key to after hours access. We were asked to pay a refundable deposit to ensure the return of this fob which seemed reasonable. My son temporarily lost his and went to the gym and asked for a replacement. He was charged $40 which also was normal. He found it in his backpack a day later and returned the fob to the gym, asking to return it and for the payment to be refunded. (they are rewritable keys so are reusable) This was refused. He's a young student so he begrudgingly accepted this. $40 means a lot to him. He know he was being ripped off but wasn't equipped to deal with the level of bluntness and he was quite upset)
So - today when I attended to cancel the membership - I then asked for the deposit back and the deposit for the lost first fob they extorted from him, only to be told that these are in fact charges - not deposits! So not only are they extortionists but they are liars as well.
So it's off to the Dept of Fair Trading I go. My recommendation?
Avoid this gym at all costs. Because there will be plenty.
(as a footnote, when I rang my bank to ensure no further charges from this company would be charged to me, the young lady dealing with it had experienced exactly the same thing with her gym during COVID
Was one of the good gyms I use to go to after 10pm as it was quiet (apart from playing the same tunes repeatedly.)
and less crowded should be updated with new equipments and step machine
Honestly the biggest, more spacious, most open bright and pleasant of the anytime places around the inner west. Staff are friendly, place is clean and inviting. But keep the secret, don't want too many visitors now do we?
I’m a local who was always interested in joining the gym so I signed up for a free 1 day trial online. The club manager, Josh, called to tell me I am not allowed to trial the gym and I have to pay for a visitor pass if I want to see it before joining. What a shame because I just wanted to have a quick workout to test it before signing up. He has lost a customer and I will be telling everyone how bad the service was. I ended up joining Plus fitness nearby which is great!
What a coincidence, other reviews same issue, yearsss of membership, and now trying to grab the very last cent they can from my pocket prior to cancellation rather than refund me at least last month bc i thought it was cancelled since February, in regard of years of membership nothing done about it, based in section 1234 of the page 47 of the contract you wont read when signing up blablabla, and I wont even into details about the gym conditions like cheap issues taking a whiiiile to get fixed and so on.enough wasting my time with this
What. A. Jokeeeeeeeeeee of a gym. Email us yesterday telling us the new time table due to government regulations is 7am to 2pm. Which is COMPLETELY fine and understandable & fair play. But to walk 25mins and have my pre work out for the door to be locked at 1245pm, and the lady walks over to the door and tells us “sorry it closes at 1pm today” and that she knows “what was wrongly stated in the email issued yesterday”, is just a joke. Poor customer, unsympathetic staff, will be bouncing to Camperdown fitness now as I’ve tried my best to be understanding and hold on with these guys, but I feel the time has come where anytime fitness has out grown their customer service due to over growth. A timely reminder of what happened to the juggernaut that ONCE was fitness first. R. I. P
Avoid this place! Spoke to Josh who is very rude. Cancelled my membership months ago and now they are taking more fees from my account months later. Very rude to deal with. Gym itself is tiny and outdated
Tried to charge me a monthly fee during a pandemic. Went to cancel my membership but couldn’t get into contact with anyone so I’m still being charged after I tried to cancel.
After being a member for 2+ years I would hope for some more faithful business practices.
