When dealing with Ms Angell and her property manager, regarding letting my unit in Dee Why, I found her professional and courteous and was happy she suggested replacing the flooring in the kitchen, and updating a few other items that were tired and dated, as this would likely yield a higher weekly rental. She successfully has rented out my investment property and I am more than impressed.
Tenants and landlords, avoid this unethical agency, please.
The purpose of this review is to save you time and money.
They misrepresented the amenity and state of repair of the unit they rented us.
The condition report didn't include any of the flaws the unit had and it was supplied late (after signing the contract).
When entering the unit without our presence to repair the doors that were impossible to close, the doors were purposefully damaged and later claimed at the tribunal as damage caused by us.
They claimed our bond before the tenancy ended (illegal), thus forcing us to lodge a claim to the tribunal. Otherwise, we would lose the bond.
They also claimed rent even after we terminated the tenancy agreement.
Despite of their alleged impeccable track record at the tribunal, their claims lacked substance and ground. They even claimed that we rented the unit to get into the country. Apparently, their knowledge of immigration and tenancy laws has room for improvement.
We have recovered our bond, luckily.
Unfortunately for the landlords, the unit has been vacant for two months now and we, as tenants, have lost considerable amount of time and money while seeking justice.
All the above stated claims are facts, based on evidence.
Do yourself a favour and choose a reputable agency.
Bad experience.
My husband rented a unit using this agency so we have a nice place to live in when I arrive to Australia.
The condition was bad. Couldn’t close the door to our bedroom, window was leaking, it was dirty, bathroom didn’t have ventilation, wardrobes were not possible to fully open, and so on.
We had to move out after a month as almost nothing was being fixed.
Very stressful times.
Claiming that we rented the unit to get into the country is just insult from the agency.
Not recommended.
She love so much money
We tried to rent property, she rushed us to pay deposit asap, after that she replied very slowly and she didn’t call anyone about my reference. She is keeping lie, finally we paid $900 for cancellation fee. We canceled in 4days but they replied after 4days. So we paid for 8days.

Stay away!
I usually don't write negative reviews but Lorna and Petra have been extremely unprofessional and difficult to deal with. They told me several times over email and phone conversations not to be "nasty" and that I should "stop talking" when all I wanted was my bond back.
Scenario:
After a cyclone hit our suburb in Dee Why, our apartment building was badly damaged by our neighbours roof that flew off which caused a big hole in our ceiling. On the same day the police came and forced us to vacate the property because the damage was so bad that they said it was unliveable and unsafe to be in. After finding temporary living accomodation that we had to pay out of our own pocket I've described to them the next day the circumstances and explained the hole and that water was pouring into the apartment from several walls. We then came to the agreement to end my lease contract and move into a new place.
However, when I pointed out that I didn't want to pay any rent for the apartment from the day the storm hit due to it's unliveable condition they said that I still have to pay rent until all my personal belongings are removed and I've returned the keys. When I pointed out that I won't be paying rent for a place that was unsafe to be in and where the police forced us out they responded that the storm is nobody's fault and that I shouldn't treat this scenario with "nastiness". Also the owner wouldn't have insurance anyways they explained.
Luckily I was able to get in contact with a man from strata that was investigating the case and that I could send all supporting emails and photos through and he advised me that I must not pay any rent from the day the storm hit and that I'm entitled for my full bond. When I pointed that out in a phone conversation and advised that I will take this to court if forced to pay, Lorna told me not to be "nasty" again and that I " have to stop talking" and then she just hung up the phone. She later accused me that I was screaming at her which is not true at all!
I've took the case to court with NCAT and two days after they received the hearing notice they came around quickly and wanted to settle all disputes. They transferred me my full bond and I miraculously didn't have to pay any more rent.
The stress of my home being made unliveable by a cyclone and needing to find somewhere else to live was stressful enough but Lorna and Petra trying to rip me off a weeks rent and withholding my bond has made a difficult situation outrages.
My advise. Don't deal with these unprofessional and unethical people.
It's been a pleasure to deal with them and have always maintained high levels of communication and getting back to us with any enquiry we had. I absolutely recommend them! Thanks Lorna!
Great to work with
We have been working with Lorna and her team for years as our property manager and have always found them responsive and efficient to our and our tenants needs. Especially as we are not in NSW, we rely on a strong managing team to oversee our property and be hands on. In the event that a tenant vacates, Angell Property has always found a new reliable one with limited downtime. I highly recommend giving them a call.
I had a terrible experience while renting with them, and I am not the only one that had issues with them!

Angell Property have managed my rental property for over 25 years.
I would not have stayed with them if they hadn't display professionalism. They are responsive to my requests/inquiries and I are good value.
Be very careful dealing with these people they will tell you all sorts of lies to get what they want.
Petra recently took over our rental just before we moved out and has been the worst experience. She lies constantly and to stretch things out.
She was telling us that they where going to renovate and had trades people come view while we where still in the property, after we moved out we payed a commercial cleaner and provided them with the invoice.
After a week or so I start asking questions with what’s happening with our bond and she said she wasn’t happy with the walls and they might need re cleaning but this property was very old and run down and we had been there for six years. I kept having to chase her up and kept getting fed the same lies about waiting for quotes or the owner doesn’t know if they want to renovate but what actually happened is that she had already applied to take the bond out and fed as along till the 14 day dispute period had passed.
I only found this out through service NSW when I called to get information. So basically we now have to take them to court.
Avoid this company at all costs
Update to your response
Firstly the oven did have a damaged knob I accept that, it was glued back and and was functioning just slightly off centre. I think you tryed to use it after the power was disconnected as I booked it to be shut off the Monday after we left
Secondly the property was professionally cleaned we provided you with a receipt, so once again more lies
Thirdly we have said for over a year we needed the cockroach’s dealt with but you never did anything, it’s the landlords responsibility
And finally in response to your claim we took advantage of the landlord durning COVID. We actually where going to move out as it was already over priced for the condition of the property but we only stayed because a reduction was on the cards as every one was really unsure of the situation at hand was looking for security and they didn’t have to accept the offer we put on the table. We did not force you into that $30 rent reduction.
You also need to accept the fact that we where there for six and a half years and had regular inspections and there was never ever one instance where you said anything was wrong.
