Alpine Motor Inn

Whilst not the newest motel in Katoomba, it is definitely one which has had a new lease on life given with the current owners/management.

The building has been given a fresh coat of paint over the old red brick, and the rooms refreshed with what looks to be new, or freshly shampooed carpet. Whilst older, the place has had some new TLC given to make it a friendly and cosy place.

For the price that we paid for 2 adults, and 2 kids, and the location in comparison to where we wanted to go, you can't fault it.

The manager provided a list of suggested eating locations, as there were none on site, but a very well stocked BP across the road. She checked in on us after the first night to make sure we were comfortable, and whether we needed anything.
She was very friendly and accommodating.

Clean but dated rooms. No restaurant options within walking distance. There is a service station across the road for snacks and coffee though.

Clean, quiet rooms, good blackout curtains, friendly staff. Not at all flash but definitely no complaints for the price.

In summary, Alpine Motor Inn is the Beethoven's Fifth Symphony of motels: dramatic, compelling, surprisingly sophisticated, and played without any frills. And just like that Symphony, it leaves you thinking, "Well, that was just fine. More than adequate indeed. "

As rooms go it was fine but the listing claims services which no longer exist. Don't trust the website for what to expect. It's fine if you just want a cheap place to spend the night.

Well, it was ok, but the walls are paper thin and we were kept awake by the people in the next room, talking all night.
In the bathroom the hot tap was marked "Cold" and the cold tap wasn't marked at all. The hair dryer didn't work, nor did the extractor fan.
The bloke on Reception was unable to tell us where we could get breakfast. He directed us to the petrol station, which didn't have a restaurant! (Nice bloke though)

Fantastic location and the room was spotlessly clean and had all the amenities you could possibly want, highly recommended

The rooms were very clean and tidy.
It had the basic facilities, being tea, coffee, small fridge, microwave, and iron and board.
The location is great. We walked from there into Katoomba centre. It was a easy walk.

Nice cosy accomodation.

In some rooms there is noise from the highway nearby if you are very sensitive. Otherwise very clean and comfortable. The staff was exceedingly helpful throughout the stay.

Very good for the money clean and tidy some one should tell the guy at reception to be a lot more professional

For a 3-star motel, this was fabulous value! I just stayed 4 nights mid winter. Loved the outlook to grass and trees, and as the huge windows were double glazed, it was quiet and cosy. I didn't need the air-conditioning on once! The room was spacious and well-equipped. A really comfortable bed with crispy fresh white linen and a shower with excellent pressure. Table and chairs, couch and desk - all great, as were TV reception and Internet. The owner was always helpful with any question I had. Just a few minutes drive to Katoomba and Leura make the Alpine Motor Inn excellent value for money.

Pretty damn cold. Aircon didn’t work very well at all. Blanket was pretty thin.
Minimal noise though and facilities are otherwise ok.

I will give 5 stars for the price. Room and bed is very spacious. Sheets look very new and clean. Despite on the side of busy road, you don't hear any noises in the room. I don't like when bath towels are not white, and of cause the deco is a bit old, but for the price, that is expected. Overall, it's comfortable stay. Recommended.

We booked two rooms close to a family event. Clean, well maintained and easy access. No breakfast or food service (at time of our stay) but the local eateries 3 minutes up.the highway are fabulous

Good place to just stay the night the people working there are verge lovely and it is all that I expect from an inn it’s in a good position as well not too difficult to find or get to if you want somewhere to stay just for the night after a long drive I definitely recommend plus there’s a very friendly cat that comes around

Overnight stay room was clean but the motel looks a little rundown ok for an overnight stay and close to Leura and katoomba for cafes and restaurants

Love room 8. BUT mould on the curtains and wall near the windows. Could affect someone with low immunity.

This place needs a full Reno. The rooms are old and need a lot of work. Mouldy bathroom and things falling apart. Outside is also falling apart. Location is a fair way to walk to Main Street and restaurants etc. Good points - lovely cleaner and the resident cat is friendly. Recommend finding somewhere else

Rooms are old.tv was situated so low i was uncomfortable watching it.
Contanental breakfast is way too expensive for what you get and its unappetising.
Room was very clean. Staff are friendly.
Noisey traffic as its right on the highway. But it quietens down after or around midnight.
Parking on site.

Very good value. A basic motel in a reasonably convenient location (15-20 minutes walk or 7 minutes drive to Katoomba shops). The bed was comfortable, the room was a good size and, although dated, is well maintained. I was very impressed with the level of cleaning.
