When a close friend of mine recommend me to a therapist, I thought that it’ll be a typical therapist who will just listen to a bit of my problem, and just telling me advice that doesn’t even relate to my actual problem.

Though, when I had my first appointment with Aisha, never in my life I was able to not only feel comfortable but also being able to relate in some areas.

Having a therapist being straight forward, and telling clients what they need to hear is something majority of therapists should be implementing. Though, everyone has its teachings.

Alhumdallah within a couple of weeks, I started to feel more, and more confident within myself and everything else around me.

I started drug and alcohol counselling with Shuv just over a year ago and from then till now my life has changed dramatically. I am now 6 months on my sobriety journey and it wouldn’t have been possible without Shuv’s counselling. I have tried countless programs, rehabs, AA’s and detoxes but nothing worked. I found the other programs had a one size fits all approach where as Shuv provided me with support tailored to me. I know I still have a long way to go but I know if I continue therapy with Shuv, I can only continue to improve. Shuv is now assisting me to strengthen relationships with my family that has been fractured due to my past drug use. Thankfully, I can get the one on one counselling and family counselling all in one place with the same counsellor that understands my recovery journey. Aisha really takes the time to work with you! She's non-judgemental and very open minded. She takes her time with you and you don't feel like your talking to a therapist. She's very laid back and understands how you feel.
