Addicted To Audio Sydney

Needed a replacement set of earpads for my (relatively niche) Audeze headphones. Alan was able to get stock from another ATA location super quickly, and even fitted them for me (which is a pain, you need to scrape off the old glue and line everything up very precisely). Amazing customer service and a really neat shop with some beautiful hi-fi kit - couldn't recommend these guys more highly.

Great to have a high end audio shop in Newtown where you can get almost anything.

The concept of the store is great! There’s an isolated listening room, a well stocked headphone bar, and a nice entrance showroom.

I really want to give 5 stars, but there’s some room for improvement.
The shop is somewhat small, and when busy, it’s very difficult to try and discuss different products.

My first interaction was almost two years ago with a salesperson called Connor. A very friendly, upbeat young man who was happy to show me around. I was too poor to afford anything but all in all, had a great time chatting about our jobs.
Threw him a bit of a curb-ball about a HIFI-Rose external CD drive which had barely released, but he did everything he could ti find as much info as he could (phone calls to tech support in Melbourne).

Second interaction, I came in and tried Audeeze LCD 2. Great headphones, but was able to hear I didn’t need them as my current cans have near indistinguishable presentation. Great to be able to try and NOT buy, as opposed to being coerced by marketing and sales-pitches. I dig the no-pressure approach.

Third interaction recently, I came in knowing what I wanted, a Schiit Lokius. In stock, but only in silver (more $$$), BUT, the salesperson got it down as much as they could, which was really nice of them. This was when it was insanely busy, yet I was served much quicker than I expected.

For anything close to or over $600 USD, prices get quite high. I would have loved to buy my Schiit Lyr+ from ADA, but it was $200 cheaper buying direct from Schiit with Fed ex shipping. This is probs a supplier / Australian import tax issue more than anything.

As nice as the Newtown store is, ADA should really get on to opening a proper sized showroom somewhere in greater Sydney.
I totally get that retail space rent is huge in Sydney, however they need a “main store” to divert and expand their customer base.
If you drive and/or don’t live on a train line, getting to Newtown is an arduous experience. I’d be happy to drive further to a bigger store with more salespeople and a larger selection of products on display / on demo / in stock!

Just wanted to say that Daniel is absolutely excellent at his job. Bought a hifi system and record player all based on his recommendation and knowledge tailored to what we needed. Then when I was having some issues with connecting it to my TV he went above and beyond to make sure I resolved the issue and was available for multiple phone calls after sale. Excellent service, give the man a promotion!

Marek helped me out when I was confused about a purchase. Gave great support and talked me through the process. Can't be grateful enough for the whole team. Will definitely be coming back.

Alan Tan has been so helpful in helping me to select the NAIM system, Focal speakers, and the Yamaha AV Receiver. He is such a nice person to deal with, and always very prompt in answering all my questions. If any of you is looking for a sound system, head straight to him and I am sure he will be very happy to guide you through like myself.

I've purchased so much online over the last 10 years that I actually forgot what quality service is.
This crew have it going on.
Straight away your greeted, made to feel welcome, and they will absolutely give you all of their attention as soon as they can.
They have some amazing products and aren't afraid to demo it for you.
Not once was there a hint of pressure for an immediate purchase and from the experience I had I will now go to them first for any and all of my hifi products.
I should also add, this was for a purchase of a $500 Dac. Hardly a purchase to expect to be placed on a VIP list, but from the moment I entered until i left the service I received was what I would expect if I just dropped $80k on a set of speakers.
They had customers in the store sampling and they looked well relaxed. Not 20 secs, but they were going through albums or sets.
It takes quite alot to impress me these days, but this store has absolutely got it going on!

Highly recommended store, range of items in stock and very accomodating staff. I bought a pair of dac/amp and audeze headset from this store after trying out a couple of iem during my visit. The staff there Alan is very accomodating that he let me try out a couple of items even if its already late in the evening after office hours actually. Ended up coming back to buy another set of dac/amp and headphone as my partner wanted a set for herself as well.

After online research on the Fiio R7, and then looking for the best price I came across Addicted to Audio. I completed an online purchase, and as soon as it was submitted, I received an email every step of the way keeping me informed (payment, packing, posting & tracking reference & delivery). This was completed in a timely manner, receiving the package under 4 days from payment.

Based on reviews, wanted to hear the Focal Chora and Aria. Alan was very helpful from the start, giving me plenty of information and suggestions. Not to mention being very patient, explaining everything to me. Ended up listening to a speaker for 30 minutes each. In the end went another way, but wanted to say kudos to the customer service.

Great store with solid selection of high end audio gear.
Was able to test out a bunch of DAC's to find what worked and sounded best with my Linux install.

Excellent service from a knowledgeable, experienced team. The quality products are well matched by the store layout and reasonable pricing.

Great place to get Hifi stuffs, especially some limited editions. The staff Alan is the best.

Alan was amazing with his knowledge, organising speed of delivery for me with the Lyngdorf TDAI 3400 unit and 2 REL S/812 subwoofers, he was kind enough have them directly shipped complimentary directly from the warehouse which got them here on a deadline I needed. Highly recommend the entire team down there and if you don't know anyone, ask for Alan Tan who is just amazing with his service and follow up. Thanks so much!

Bought my first Hifi speaker from ATA and I am impressed with their services. The speed of delivery, and the updates are very much appreciated.

Very slow to pick and pack and post. No communication until I initiated. Otherwise no problems.

Fantastic customer service, the guys went out of their way to help me find a solution to a problem, fixed the issue on the spot out of good will and wouldn’t accept payment when offered. I’ll be back.

Guy was very helpfull and happy to help. Didnt really have any IEM case's in stock but found one ojt back and though it in for free.

Relaxed and friendly staff as I was auditioning the headphones that they had on range over the weekend. Never felt rushed and was encouraged to take my time. Some great deals from time to time when things go on sale.
