Failed to help me. Mostly ignored or bushed off to different people every time I try to seek out help. Don't have any place for non binary folk. Was hoping to find a way to connect with others all I got was the run around.

Very helpful and supportive of the LGBTQI community. They have support groups, counselling services, fund raising events and friendly staff.

Having an outdated Domestic / Family Violence website referring LGBTQI ppl to other websites or services is not good enough. But I mean you got the government grant of 200k so that’s the main thing right?

Have dedicated staff and funds available to help LGBTQI ppl facing DV or FV. ACON should be able to house clients who need help or faced with being homeless, referring back to the government departments who can’t help just shows you are not making any effort to help the LGBTQI community in these areas.

You need to re focus your business model - HIV has ended with PREP. So if that’s the case why are you still in operation?

Government needs to close ACON and allow NSW Health to give the millions of dollars in grant money to LGBTQI community groups who are helping clients in areas that are actually needed.

Good social worker. Not good housing officer! A lack of any 'real empathy'! Human beings are not just little robotic boxes to be ticked! How about really listening to the client an 'involving'them in whatever decisions are made in consultation with the client? ! Instead of operating under your own agenda an ignoring the clients 'real needs'. Bad help is really, no help at all! Staff who really dont listen to what people tell them an just carry on regardless with what they think best shows a complete lack of empathy an polite consideration to discover the 'best real world solutions' for disadvantaged people suffering adversity an grief like myself an many others! A lack of genuine empathy can drive fragile folk to suicideAcon does some things right, however, that isnt enough, when such a large organization gets it very wrong! They failed to help my deceased partner who was working full time when he reached out because his health was failing years agoClients should never be treated disrespectfuly by people turning up to do whatever they think best with very little input from their clients! Esp after revealing very personal emotional information! A lack of any real genuine sensitivity an caring' lead to greater problems. It should be about finding 'real suitable solutions' for any distressed folk using acon or positive living services! After what a former board member told me years ago (he resigned) I should have realised such a large org can lack certain skillsets an people can fall through the cracks

Do not take it up the butt and that will reduce your chances of HIV. Condoms break, especially with anal. Try alternatives. ACON are a good organisation.

I asked for counselling December 9 2016. Still nothing sorted with ACON and it's April 2017, except a counsellor calling January 9th to organise which I could not accept. The registrar Belinda called after this but I have never heard back. My thoughts on ACON counselling is that they are most unprofessional and incompetent.

Acon is a fantastic organisation that is doing amazing work across nsw. Their offices are really nice and a great place to hold large meetings. Was there for Mardi Gras' agm and it was a great location for it.
